"This could have been an email." Aragorn whispers. "He ALWAYS pulls this shit in 'Any Other Business" Boromir replies, quietly. "It's why Faramir marked himself as busy when the invite went out."

Elrond tells the long story of the One Ring, from its forging in the Mountain of Fire, to its betrayal of Isildur at the Gladden Fields. Frodo is startled to learn that Elrond himself marched with Gil-Galad in the Last Alliance against Sauron, more than three thousand years ago.

The missing word in the otherwise excellent alt text is 'cats', as in 'black cats flying out'

This website simulates the effects of colorblindness on color schemes; I've used it to pick palettes that can still be distinguished by brightness and saturation: davidmathlogic.com/colorblind/

Just a reminder that certain colors cannot be discriminated by around 5% of the population. Especially in the run-up to the @societyofvertpaleo.bsky.social meeting, think about choosing colorblind-friendly colors for display. There are many resources for this, but colorbrewer2.org is great.

So the position of press secretary is held to a higher standard than that of the presidency (which, these days, of course, is nothing new)

"Trump, according to one of the White House officials, told Zacharia directly that she really needed to reconsider the position. But the official added that the president, in an earlier meeting that Zacharia was not present for, told attendees that she had no talent and shouldn’t be on television."

LLMs are a blight on society, & sloppers should be pilloried & pelted with rotten fruit, veg, & eggs, but I wish people would stop claiming, as Wilson does here, that em-dashes are a 'tell' for AI prose. Bloke unironically uses three of the things in his own article. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10...

Fun fact: An 'opacifier' is a small biomedical device developed in 1763, to soothe and ensure the visibility of infants. However, modern babies are so seldom born with transparency that the original spelling is now seen as archaic, and many cheaper models now omit the important secondary function.
