So sad to hear of the passing of Walter Koenig (90). Some of my earliest memories were of him as navigator of the USS Enterprise. I once got drunk with him in the late 80s at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool whilst attending a Star Trek convention. Funny, humble guy. Warp Speed my friend, RIP.
Nearly half of people who apply for PIP are in work and use the funds to enable themselves to stay in work. Cutting PIP will add to the welfare budget as those people will no longer be able to stay in the work force.
The leg is acting up tonight - feels how I imagine a metal rod hammered through the knee would. (an extra hinge point). Meanwhile the Allodynia has the skin stinging like acid every time the bedsheet moves a fraction.

So, it was decided that some liquid Tapentadol was warranted, but I need an antiemetic (or food) with it, so that's why I'm having a snack sized bag of Iced Gems at 02.30

I imagine Ogi Networks Limited will be haemorrhaging customers very shortly.

Health messages on cigarette packets have worked. We should do the same with betting shops. A third of the frontage should have a big yellow on black sign saying "We're still in business because you keep on losing. You're all losers."
WTF is wrong with people?
To the guy who ran across a zebra crossing in front of an ambulance with its blues & twos going, you're a wanker! To the two women who casually strolled across, noses high with an air of entitlement, causing the ambulance to slow down & wait for her, I hope the

karma fairy visits you soon, and hits hard!
Who the fuck walks in front of an ambulance? Especially one with flashing blue lights and sirens going? You get out of its way, not make it wait for you!
Bethany wore a βProtect The Dollsβ t-shirt during rehearsals. The BBC posted it on their socials then quietly deleted and reposted it without showing her from the front. On TV last night they actually blurred the message #Strictly
βLiving with #ChronicPain is a journey of ups and downs. Just when you feel you've found a rhythm, a surge of intense and overwhelming pain can crash over youβ¦ Flares can be particularly challengingβ¦ intensifying your usual pain levels.β https://buff.ly/GRWSq34#ChronicIllness#Disability
Piers Morgan βMohammed, do you condemn the Hamas attacks on October the 7th?β
Mohammed Hijab βYes, I do. Do you condemn Israel killing over 1000 kids?β
Piers Morgan βI believe Israel has a right to defend themselvesβ
That answer should be on the tombstone of his career.
I've had chronic insomnia since I was a kid but it's really stepped up today.
If I can I'll try to get up by 15.30 Monday - Saturdays. Today it's 06.25 and I can't get back over. This is going to fuck me over for the rest of the week.
If I crash and sleep through your calls/texts I'll apologise now.
On the plus side of the smoke detectors pick up any smoke they all go ape-shit together and whack every light in the house to 100% and a 6000K cold white.
There's phone notifications in case we're away from home. I'll see to sockets later.
All new houses should be built wth doors and passageways wide enough for wheelchairs. Anyone can end up needing one, whether temporarily or permanently.
I'm half-British and half-Thai. A random right-winger verbally racially abused me in the street for no reason at all. That same man was in my A&E ward a couple of days later due to a cardiac arrest. I was the doctor who saved him. There's a moral in that story somewhere.
Mortuary technician here. Often take a nap at work by lying on a gurney and covering myself with a sheet. Haven't been accidentally autopsied yet, but have scared the newbie half to death when I started snoring
Anyone saying people fake disability to rake in benefits instead of working hasn't filled in the Universal Credit Work Capability form.
Not a single question about work, but 2 pages detailing how often you shit yourself. Purposefully dehumanising for an extra 217 quid a month
Some of the smoke detector capabilities these days are very impressive indeed. The detector itself is tiny. Bonus points added as this one came with very comprehensive instructions as well as the quick start guide and a magnetic base plate.
β¬οΈ
Confirmed it can come down and go back with an extended grab tool too so changing the battery is even easier
Alas its competitor is going back. Actual instructions:
You will need Nous setup app. Scan QR1 to download
User manual in your language, under "Manual" tab, scan QR2 to download.
β¬οΈ
The first QR code isn't to a legitimate Google Play/iOS app store, it's to download & sideload their app.
I can accept text so small you need a magnifying glass to read the instructions, but not having no instructions, told to download an app from their site and install it with no permissions list.
We've had the ''If he does when you're asleep, do you want waking up?' chat. We both want waking no matter what time of day. Holding in that news for hours, waiting for the other to wake up would be torturous. We don't care what time of day it is, we will have a drink, even a sip, to celebrate. β¬οΈ
It'll be bittersweet though, I want that cunt to suffer for years in prison first for what he's done. He's escaped justice for far too long as it is.

There's a special form of frustration when you pick up a phone, unlock it and you forget why you've unlocked it.
It's not as though you've entered a PIN, password or pattern - it's a fingerprint. How buggered is a brain when that's enough to distract you?
A cross-party committee of MPs has warned the government against using the Timms Review to cut disabled peopleβs access to personal independence payment, which it said would only increase pressure on other services.

Working our way through #Ghosts again. It's one of our top favourites. If you've not already seen it, it's definitely worth watching.
After watching Ghosts, Ghosts US and Ghosts Australia I can confirm their ranking as
1. Ghosts
2. Ghosts Australia
3. Ghosts US

I've been a wheelchair user for twenty-three years next month. My son jumped off the couch when he was six and landed on my back severing my L2 vertebrae. I've never told anyone he did it and said I fell so he wouldn't have the guilt. I he's forgotten or blocked it out.
