This didn't happen. What actually happened is that Russia deliberately bombed several American businesses in Ukraine. The Bunge oilseed plant was hit right after Senator Blumenthal's visit in a twisted demonstration of power.

Marco Rubio: "The one thing we are concerned about is that over the last few months on a number of occasions American-linked ships, American oil supplies, have been targeted -- probably not deliberately -- but targeted nonetheless by Ukraine. That needs to be addressed. We can't have that happen."

Common Cause, @lulacorg.bsky.social, and @democracyforward.org filed a lawsuit challenging this administration's unlawful policy allowing armed ICE officers at polling places. No one should have to walk past armed agents to vote. We won't be intimidated out of exercising our freedom.

So the new thing, apparently, for now, is that Trump Inc thinks it's a good idea to bribe voters with promises of a $5,000 check. Which jibes with the Trump-Vance brand of "conservatism" which abuses tax $ to entrench power. And also, they've said this before. A LOT.

We sued to block the Trump admin from compiling sensitive data of millions of Americans into so-called State Citizenship Lists & pressuring states to use them. It violates laws meant to protect privacy, threatens voting rights, & usurps states’ constitutional election authority. protdem.org/3UuGVeh

It’s worth noting that Taco Bell identified the source before the FDA did, and promptly pulled it from their stores. The FDA didn’t even name the source until Taylor Farms outed themselves, and hasn’t issued a recall. Basically, Taco Bell is now a more reliable authority than the FDA.

I wish more journalists would point out that Sen. McConnell and Rep. Tom Kean (missed 4 months of work) are/were essentially on paid sick & medical leave. The same employment protection they’ve spent their careers blocking other Americans from having.

The claim that "Israel wants to kill its way out of every problem" is the sort of thing that tends to draw a DOJ investigation and the blocking of federal funds when made by campus actors.

Friends, this breaks my heart. The Supreme Court just sided with the people who try to "convert" queer kids out of being who they are. Let me be clear: so-called "conversion therapy" is not therapy. It is abuse. You should not get to tell a frightened child the truest part of themselves is broken.

thepetitionsite.comSign Petition: Conversion Therapy for Children Is Abuse. US States Must Continue to Fight This Nonscientific PractiConversion therapy is not real therapy. It is pseudoscience teaching kids to hate themselves, leading to high rates of depression and suicidality. (32485 signatures on petition)

Medical emergencies at Delaney Hall go untreated. Mental health crises are met with isolation, not care. This is torture and the Trump administration and their Republican enablers in Congress pretend that nothing is happening. Keep sounding the alarm. #ShutDownDelaneyHall

This is insane. The terms of DOJ's slush fund appear to transfer control of $1.8 billion beyond US government entirely. Unless I'm misreading this, that would circumvent Congress *entirely* and put the money outside of *any* constitutional and/or legal constraints ofany kind. Straight up theft.

Greg Sargent@gregsargent.bsky.social

Unreal. Now that Trump dropped IRS lawsuit, DOJ just announced a new slush fund for alleged victims of "weaponization." Two Qs: *Will there be *any* congressional oversight? Most reporting suggests not. *Would payments to J6ers violate 14A? Raskin explains here: newrepublic.com/article/2105...

We’re in the “break glass in case of emergency” moment for American democracy. Democrats can create 22 new blue US House seats by 2028 by redrawing maps in: – New York – Colorado – Maryland – Oregon – Wisconsin – Minnesota – Pennsylvania Time to take action.

Greg Sargent@gregsargent.bsky.social

Virginia supreme court's inexplicable ruling against the will of voters on redistricting dramatically raises the urgency for Dems to redistrict in other states before 2028. The stakes in state legislative races this cycle just got more urgent. My piece on that here: newrepublic.com/article/2098...

The problem—which both the GOP and the milquetoast institutionalists seem to not be grappling with here—is that the more you close off avenues of political change through the democratic process, the more you push people to see extra-institutional mechanisms as their only option
