today's Republican Party perfectly summarized: "No policy chops. Just transgressive bigotries as political theater."

Blizzard Passenger@blizzardpassenger.bsky.social

I agree, but I must admit that I wonder if the Republican Party can ever be that sort of reasonable, pro-democracy conservative party again. The upcoming generation of Republicans really only knows Trump. No policy chops. Just transgressive bigotries as political theater.

Hi @patrickhealynyt.bsky.social! @marisakabas.bsky.social is asking this excellent question on many people’s behalf, certainly including mine.

I emailed Patrick Healy, assistant managing editor for standards and trust at NYT, to ask why their story about a House report with new details of rape allegations against the President of the United States included neither those details, nor a single use of the word "rape." archive.is/1s9AM

Two smaller things I appreciate here: 1. Unless I’m mistaken, there are zero cuts or edits in this? It’s the whole conversation, start to finish. 2. The addition of “or not pray at all” every single time, which a lot of candidates tend to omit.
