the idea phase is the easiest and least valuable part of professional creativity. read the first draft of the first Star Wars if you doubt me Great art is made in the grinding, often miserable collision between the ethereal substance of an idea and the mud and blood and friction of reality

Why do we keep on doing this? Praising a 'small core team' for a game with 1100+ people in the credits is incredibly misleading. This PR narrative hurts, hides the massive shadow workforce of outsourced developers and testers, and sets impossible standards for actual indie teams.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer was made by a core team of 75 people. "What we wanted to do was keep that core small, smaller than perhaps you might have done in the past, and scale capacity and capability with what we call distributed development." https://bit.ly/4hT02qg

This can't have been an easy decision for House House to make, well done to them. By chance, I read this news just as I was watching an interview with Humza Yousaf in which he speaks about the need for those with public profile, platform & security to use them for Palestine.

This is what I cycle back to. Nerds love talking bout useful tech. I am so absolutely up for boring any journo with an in depth explanation of how anything in my games was done. It’s fucking cool making games and almost as fun talking about making them. I’m not buying that anyone is proud of this
