Actually, I had a dream last night that the 2028 presidential election was a sudden landslide for Bill Clinton. And yes, that was confusing even in dream logic.

Ope

New breach: An August ShinyHunters extortion campaign against Sharecare allegedly exposed 318k email addresses, mostly business contacts, plus some Brazilian health plan member data. 73% were already in @haveibeenpwned.com. More: haveibeenpwned.com/Breach/Share...

It's remarkable to me the number of people who will post on Reddit instead of looking something up. I was not aware of this phenomenon before this year.

I'm not interested in working for a company that is AI-driven. That bubble is going to burst, and it's going to take the environment and economy down with it.

And I'm most certainly not interested in working with a company that touts its relationship helping to line the pockets of Elon Musk and Peter Thiel. Hard pass.

Some of the higher-ups at work use ChatGPT to write their corporate emails and slide decks and team messages and it is absolutely gag-inducing.

Love how this dude discovered the cheat codes of "what if I listened to constituents" and "what if I modeled good behavior" and "maybe I behave like a normal person should." These are apparently dark secrets that have been hidden from other politicians.

I'm listening, I'm learning. Safety first, NYC.

“it costs less money than what we’re doing now” is the only answer we need to push normies towards universal healthcare

Jen Taub@jentaub.bsky.social

“A single-payer universal health care system could cover every American, save more than 100,000 lives a year, and still cost $1 trillion less than the system it would replace, according to a new preprint study led by researchers at the Yale School of Public Health.” ysph.yale.edu/news-article...

Had to go through like 5 rounds of attempts to keep me as a subscriber, and the operator hours and accent suggest they outsource their call center to Eastern Europe. Suuuuuper sketchy.

Wow, you can subscribe to @inquirer.com online, but you can't cancel online. That's really shady and makes me want to cancel even more.

I think it's important to remember that the Senate was originally made up of members selected by state legislatures, thus representing a second degree of elected representation. The electoral college and "advice and consent" were designed with that in mind.

Saw a meme of GenZ baffled by how pre-internet travel worked, and realized we’ve crossed an enshittification threshold where IRL services that once seemed outdated, like travel agents, now seem luxurious: “You meet with a human expert who plans out your whole trip with you” sounds incredible now tbh

You guys are never gonna believe this, but going to a brick-and-mortar running store and getting sized by employees who know what they're doing and can recommend brands and models for you is a WAY better strategy than Googling "Nike running shoes" and buying whatever's on sale

One reason I hate death penalty cases is that capital punishment is incredibly stupid and irrational. It's cruel, expensive, and serves no deterrent effect. It's rarely imposed, except against a tiny minority of unlucky defendants—and in those cases, racism almost always plays a role. Just end it.
