DON'T BUY TRAIN TICKETS IN ADVANCE! On 1 April, the government is quietly changing the rules. Off-Peak & Anytime tickets become non-refundable after 23:59 the day BEFORE you travel. If you wake up & find your event cancelled, NO REFUNDS, even on £100+ tickets. www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/far...

Apply a more sensible 40% line (shown green), and 70+% of Labour and Lib Dem MPs have local majority credibility

Using a car costs way more - in both private and public costs - than public transport and other modes. When our government decides to invest in motorways over public transport and to prioritise sprawling car dependent suburbs, they are actively choosing to force up the cost of transport.

Did you know that The Economist can not just be read on paper and digitally, but comes out as an #audiobook every week? Read by British actors, not AI, it is one of our best service to readers I think.

It makes tons of sense. People don’t desire to be flanked by loud, dangerous, stinky cars. They desire to be around people, quieter spaces, and have free flowing access to roam about.

I'd like to submit this picture I took in Tokyo in 2019 of an older woman riding her nifty trike through the streets of (I think) the Ueno neighborhood. In utter safety and confidence.
