Listen, I'm not an absolutist about AI at all. But if you're going to insist I can't know what's going on in there and maybe there's a real boy inside, then you might as well get a head start and block me now.

I don't understand people who can look at guys like RFK Jr., Trump, Miller, Hegseth... you name it, and say, "that there is a master race."

This. I am quite literally never giving money or knocking doors because I got one of these texts (and be honest, they are only really ever about the former). If you become the presumptive presidential nominee, I'll sign back up for a day so you can tell me your VP pick a few hours after it leaks.

Laurie Voss@seldo.com

And now back to my full time job, texting the word "stop" to every living Democrat.

Looked like he went around on all but one angle. I think maybe his bat cleared the plane very quickly. The actual rule is an attempt to hit, which could be argued either way, regardless of plane. Definitely neither inarguable nor a clearly erroneous call.

The cabin door is now closed. Ladies and gentleman, please fasten your seat belts.

BREAKING: The Trump DOJ just sent letters to local election officials across California — every county in the state — demanding they identify potential noncitizens on their voter rolls and set aside their ballots. Local officials would "risk significant federal scrutiny" if they failed to comply.

Verdict: true.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: Your ambassador to Turkey just said that 'absolutely, there could a strike on Iran this weekend.' Have you gone back on holding off until after the midterms? TRUMP: If that's the case, I don't know anything about it

Almost worth listening to this fascist piece of racist shit till the end just to watch him stutter when he's called on far more hyperbolic trash.

Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan.bsky.social

My exchange with a former top Trump adviser who says it is totally "inappropriate" & "irresponsible" to use the word fascist when talking about Trump. Then I reminded him of his own use of the word. Watch/enjoy/share: (Full 'Head to Head' show with Steve Cortes: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLJV...)

This is really the lead here. There are going to be a lot more of these in 2 weeks.

The Once-ler@maledicta.bsky.social

The prayer for relief is insane. They want the court to preemptively announce that it will block the state from certifying the election result, but only if the incumbent Dan Sullivan loses.

He must not have given his tithe.

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

BREAKING NYT: The Trump Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into Corey Lewandowski over accusations that he personally profited from his role as a top adviser to the Department of Homeland Security, according to two officials with knowledge of the situation.

Would be ironic and lovely if this not only backfired as a dirty political trick but also actually reached some kids who needed it.

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

Diabolical — Republicans appear to be sending fake pro-trans/LGBTQ mailers from Wyoming directly to kids in Texas (not their parents!) to piss off voters

Husted could absolutely BREAK Grindr right now if he wanted to.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

Apparently Trump talking about Husted’s ass has now become a permanent part of his rants to the cultists between riffs about his struggles with anemomenophobia and galeophobia.

Imagine Mamdani too. Of course, neither he or El Sayed would ever say such a thing so you'll just have to keep imagining.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

Imagine how much different this statement would look if Abdul El-Sayed had said it instead of Trump.

I would say this is money horribly spent.

Marisa Kabas@marisakabas.bsky.social

Huge follow-up reporting to my scoop: The Guardian confirmed America Next—the conservative nonprofit founded by Bobby Jindal that was offering students $ to disrupt El-Sayed events—paid a firm registered to Tommy Teepell’s dad Timmy $250k for “canvassing and influencer marketing” against El-Sayed.

It's not as if we have evidence he is even actually passing these tests. Would they tell him (or anyone else) if he wasn't?

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

In the last two years Trump has now claimed the cognitive test he keeps taking has the following animals on it: - Lion - Bear - Giraffe - Snake - Alligator - Squirrel - Shark - Elephant - Horse - Tiger - Whale

This is him finding a nice way to say he is going to dump overvalued SpaceX stock into Trump accounts so they can take the losses instead of him and his other wealthy shareholders.

CNN@cnn.com

Elon Musk has said he will give every child in America a stake in SpaceX, his $2 trillion aerospace and artificial intelligence company, as tech firms face intensifying scrutiny over their impact on society. https://cnn.it/4yWTjTJ

“The other 1 in 3 Americans responded that they do not know what ‘enrich’ means”

I know I should take solace in this data point, but it's absolutely insane to me that 1/3 of Americans are truly this stupid.

Scott MacFarlane@macfarlanenews.bsky.social

Washington Post has released series of new polling this morning Perhaps this is the most striking finding:

washington dc is not trump’s personal property and must be given statehood to prevent this kind of abuse in the future

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

This design appears to completely eliminate the much-beloved loop road and public park at Hains Point, and cut down the cherry trees which line the road. The park is a public space used by tens of thousands of Washingtonians and heavily visited by tourists. /photos not my own.

Correct. And the next two decades after that. Let's do this!

Mike Johnson threatens us with a good time: "They want to exact retribution on the Trump administration every hour of every day for the next two years"

Very mad at myself for wasting waaaay too much time carefully typing something out to someone I thought was seriously interested learning something. Equal thousands of followers and following is undefeated.

Third Way clowns absolutely do not hope these candidates win.

Greg Sargent@gregsargent.bsky.social

Ludicrous framing here from @nytimes.com. No serious Dems ever thought these would be slam dunks. And it's premature to let a centrist group get in a self-interested shot like this before we even know if these candidates will actually fare worse in the elections than other ones. Indefensible.

Accusation = confession. But honestly, if they want to make Vance a proxy for the GOP campaigns, by all means.

JD Vance calls El-Sayed "a little weasel who should shut his mouth and show a little gratitude"

Gruel of Law reposted

I disagree, categorically, that adding additional justices, even in a "tit-for-tat" way, is a "race to the bottom." I think having a great many *more* judges is actually good for democracy, representation, ethics, and limiting the importance and power of any individual judge. Furthermore...

I really wish one of the reporters there had asked him to explain the joke.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance: "I love you too sir. In a totally platonic way, to be clear. I'm the vice president, not James Talarico."

This is obviously an accusation = confession moment here.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"He's just a guy who shows a weird focus on transgender kids ... typically people who say stuff like that tend to have some unusual search histories" -- JD Vance, who is obsessed with demagoguing trans issues, baselessly suggests that Talarico is a pedo

Imagine being such a feckless "leader" that the best you can say about these actions is that they "raise serious questions." Please stop sucking political air with this useleness and make ruin for leaders who actually want to lead and aren't afraid to call a spade a spade.

Amy Klobuchar@amyklobuchar.com

The timing of this raid and reports that a White House official was involved raise serious questions that should concern all Americans, regardless of political party.

They are so happy though. No immigrants. No trans women competing in things they don't watch that have never featured a trans woman. Maybe things are a little rough at the moment, but hunger is a small price to pay for no wars. Heartwarming to see them getting the blessings they deserve. ❤️ 🤲 ✝️ 📖 ⛪

Forget what you think of his position on anything, this is the kind of energy we are going to need to demand the guys we send to DC bring, all day, every day, for the foreseeable future.

Well, she can still afford them thanks to all the bribes.

His mistress turned wife sure is super!

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

BAIER: The president says 'SI.' Are you into SI or AI? BEZOS: I do like SI, because 'artificial' is not a very flattering thing. Like, nobody wants an artificial sweetener, artificial flavoring.

To put this another way, all Johnson can do is create a pretend shadow House. The Democrats will be more than willing to go alone on this.

Pwnallthethings@pwnallthethings.bsky.social

If Democrats win, johnson will not be speaker at the point where they are swearing in the new Congress. They are sworn in by the speaker elect, who is chosen by the member elects

A state everyone associates with first rate education.

The state of Alabama imposed a state law that requires pubic schools and universities to use the term “Gulf of America.” And obvious and flagrant authoritarian move and textbook example of what Barrett Taylor and I call postliberal governance. www.insidehighered.com/news/governm...
