The HALLOWEEN 5 - MICHAEL MYERS skin is releasing October 27 for HALLOWEEN: THE GAME. Purchase the Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers Skin for immediate access to the Scythe weapon.

It’s sad how quickly the Halloween game has become unplayable. Just did about a dozen matches and, no matter what side I was on, there wasn’t a single Michael victory all night. Playing as the killer in these things should be a power trip. It shouldn’t feel like you’re being bullied by teenagers

It truly feels like the only people left in lobbies now are the insufferable asshats that ruin it for everyone else. It’s an inevitable part of the asym lifecycle, but I hoped this one would at least manage to remain enjoyable up until, you know, October 31st

Hellraiser: Revival is satisfyingly brutal, thoroughly debauched, totally messed up and has an astute understanding of what makes Clive Barker’s world so enthralling. More than anything, though, I just loved its sheer commitment to the sadomasochistic bit. My review for @bloody-disgusting.com

HELLRAISER: REVIVAL is a sadistic, flesh ripping horror shooter that understands the mind of Clive Barker. Read our full review of HELLRAISER: REVIVAL - bloody-disgusting.com/video-games/...

The thing that surprised me most about Silent Hill: Townfall is how politically charged its story is, and how much it makes of its British identity. My review for @bloody-disgusting.com

SILENT HILL: TOWNFALL is a gripping experience that delivers everything you could want from a good Silent Hill title, while also pushing the envelope and innovating in some cool ways. Read our full review: bloody-disgusting.com/video-games/...

"using AI to bring Margaret Thatcher to life" is one of the more evil undertakings I've heard of lately

Deadline@deadline.com

"There's about 30 seconds of it in our movie," the Oscar winner said about using AI to bring the Kray twins and Margaret Thatcher to life on screen.

When working as intended, Halloween: The Game is a blast and one of the most promising asymmetrical horror titles I’ve played in a while. Alas, there’s a pretty big qualifier in that last sentence that’s doing a lot of heavy lifting. My review for @bloody-disgusting.com

The ideas are strong, it understands its source material, and it’s perfectly calibrated to generate those memorable watercooler moments. However... Read our review of HALLOWEEN: THE GAME: bloody-disgusting.com/video-games/...

Without saying your age, what is your favourite movie released the year you turned 18?🎬 If I was going by UK release dates it'd be Django Unchained (literally came out the DAY I turned 18). For the sake of consitency with Letterboxd and IMDB listings, though, it'll have to be... #filmsky #moviesky

"Yeah, Christopher Nolan made a billion dollars with a film about a scientist being sad, but I really think I can get people to skip his movie where Matt Damon fights monsters with a sword," - the finest minds on the internet.

"Nolan makes movies for dumb guys to feel smart" is itself the kind of reductive statement made to make someone feel smarter than they are imo

EVIL DEAD BURN goes scorched earth with the grimmest, goriest and most stylishly uncompromising take on the series. It fully commits to its burning motif with an abusive French Extremity twist that leans heavily on the cruelty exhibited in the 2013 version. Still darkly comedic, but way more bitter

All the physical media talk makes me miss those Fridays after school when my mum would take me to the video store to rent a game. It’s one of the most cherished memories I have and fuck you PlayStation.

Evil Dead Burn had me cackling like a deadlite for much of its runtime, as the lashings of gore just kept coming, the mean spirited sadism just kept escalating, and the vertiginous camera work just kept getting giddier boxd.it/f867cx

Grave of the Fireflies. I'm a movie crier in general, but this one had me sobbing violently halfway through and it never relented. My entire face was puffy for a full day after.

okay folks, I’m in need of a good cortisol release — please share which movies make you shake violently from sobbing. I’m talking Titanic, Fault In Our Stars, P.S. I Love You, the first dozen times you watch The Notebook level don’t let me down

The Devil in Me remains my favourite TDP game, but I did enjoy hanging with the crew in Directive 8020. That's the great thing about anthologies, right? We all have our favourites. Always happy to have more TDP. www.thegamer.com/directive-80...

thegamer.comDirective 8020 Review: One Giant Leap For Jump ScaresDirective 8020 offers fresh mechanics to the series' template and retains the core gameplay we know and love, but some parts feel a little repetitive.

On a whim, I actually started reading Suzuki’s Ring last year and, in no time flat, proceeded to voraciously consume the entire series (minus the untranslated Tide). His books are bonkers, unpredictable and eminently readable. Of the ones I’ve read, Dark Water is the best but Birthday is great too

Bloody Disgusting@bloody-disgusting.com

We are sad to learn that Japanese master of horror Koji Suzuki has passed away at 68. Koji Suzuki's nightmares defined an era of horror beginning in the '90s with THE RING, originally a Suzuki novel, and DARK WATER, based on a Suzuki short story. Rest in Peace, master.
