American institutions (and individuals) have more often than not punished Indigenous children and Black and Brown children— actual children— as adults, while excusing the behavior of white men. But hearing a white man calling his actions at 53 a "youthful indiscretion" really takes the cake.

Today Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee released a report saying that a “growing body of evidence demonstrates that Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s.” CSPAN about to be must see TV.

Another republican politician using childhood sexual abuse to try to obtain/ stay in power. Is two considered a trend? @hcrichardson.bsky.social said in her letter last night that the republicans were doubling down on “a false narrative undergirded by cruelty.” This seems to fit in that category.

“But it is simply astonishing that the president of the United States, the commander in chief of the United States military, is suggesting he had to negotiate with a private citizen to tell him to stop interfering with American foreign policy.”

From the people who brought you “we just want people to do things the RIGHT way,” I bring you “we made sure there WAS NO RIGHT WAY.” The fact that the WH is proud of this reveals what we’ve been saying for years: it’s not about “illegal.” It’s about bigotry.

Today we launch the first episode of my podcast. I interviewed Whitney Mitchell, whose fiancé and caretaker Garrett Foster was murdered at a BLM protest in 2020. Foster's killer was convicted by a jury and given a 25-year sentence. Then Texas Gov. Greg Abbott pardoned him.

As Paul Waldman noted in Public Notice on Oct 15, “Up and down the ballot, the [Republican Party] has nominated crackpots and nitwits, none more colorful than Victor Marx, their nominee for governor in Colorado.” Follow @kylec.bsky.social for more on Marx. It’s entertaining and Kyle is a treasure.

Does arresting the wife of an enlisted man and mother of four US citizen children, a person who’s been here since she was 6 years old, make our country great again?

Nick Miroff@nickmiroff.bsky.social

NEW: ICE is trying to deport a mother of 4 while her husband is at Fort Benning in Army basic training. When she went to pick up the family's military IDs, Navy personnel turned her over to ICE. She's been in the US since age six. With @nancyayoussef.bsky.social www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

NEW: Fraudsters stole $470 million last year from Americans who need help paying for food. Adopting the same microchip that credit cards have had for years would prevent most of the theft, but Congress won’t pay for it.

Mullin is lying. These were not identified as "high-risk" nations, and it was not "tougher vetting" that cut entries. The absolute number of denials is LOWER now than under Biden. They just aren't even processing applications, and you owe every American sponsor an answer.

ICE has abducted Senegalese WBB player Aminata Seck and won't release her. DHS 'policy' is to provide medical care to prisoners at intake, yet they admit to denying her care for an ACL injury for 1.5 months. The NCAA is letting it happen, despite its predatory recruitment of ICAs. We explain.

Incredible. First Secretary Mullin claimed that DHS had identified 15,903 noncitizens on Nevada’s voter roll. Then DHS officials told a skeptical Nevada, no no no, that’s just people we flagged. Here are the names of 185 people we KNOW aren’t citizens. All 185 were citizens. DHS got 100% wrong.

Here's a good test case for our framework, demonstrating how a real incident can be turned into a false "rigged election" rumor or narrative. Here the DOJ highlights a case where a postal worker discarded mail that included ballots, and uses that to suggest voter fraud and untrustworthy elections.

Guterres said, “the United Nations was created as an act of defiance. The defiance of people who refuse to surrender the future to fear. The defiance against the self-defeating notion that might makes right. The defiance of countries that know our futures are bound together “The defiance of hope.”
