*abruptly realising that I've spent the past several months under the mistaken impression that two totally unconnected users with vaguely similar avatars are the same person* So, are you familiar with the concept of syncretism?

Early military aviation is underexplored in planegirl technology. I want to see the girl version of some fuckass plywood deathtrap where they just armoured the propeller because the synchronisation gear hadn't been invented yet and gambled it wouldn't deflect a bullet right back in the pilot's face.

A useful lens on the concept of social murder takes the form of a question: "What the fuck am I supposed to do now?" Because the unspoken answer, always, is "die." "WTF am I supposed to do now I can't get SNAP/Medicaid/HRT?" The answer is "die." The purpose of a policy is what it does: kill.

"so what they are just going to vote republican" no, they are going to pack their shit and move to somewhere else where their child will be safe. this shit isn't a game, its life and death for years now we have been witnessing an internal trans refugee crisis in the states for this reason

The fundamental rot at the heart of the Democratic Party is the absolute refusal to acknowledge this reality. That no matter how horrible the consequences of policy, the leadership and its sycophants will not ever admit to the unspoken death toll beneath it. Transphobia kills people.

Half the time the people doing this are active 5E players themselves – which I guess demonstrates the issue at hand, in a way, if so few people are actually running 5E's resource economy as written that they honestly don't realise that they're talking about their own game!

hexdrake.bsky.social reposted

A fascinating phenemenon I keep bumping into in the D&D fandom is folks who can clearly articulate the problems with 5E's resource economy, but because they have it in their heads that 4E was the Bad Edition, they misremember those problems as being characteristic of 4E instead.

hexdrake.bsky.social reposted

It's gratifying to see even in 2026 it's still impossible to mention D&D 4th Edition in any substantive way without a bunch of shitheads who've never played or even read it immediately attempting to relitigate a decades-old edition war based on half-remembered stuff they've heard other people say.

hi! regime bureaucrat here. you can call this running on an "anti-corruption" platform and it can include many things: eliminating the daily scams and gambling in american life, mamdani style pothole-fixing "sewer socialism", busting "informal familial connections", and purging the government !!

The Lula election may be the most significant of our time. Brazil will be the vanguard against an even more apocalyptic environmental deterioration. Overjoyed that the Amazon remains steadfast.

This is why I hate the “it has to be subtle!!!” Critique of queer media. The fact that we can’t just say what we are or what the character is is so reductive and constraining to so many queer writers. Don’t let cis people dictate how you show you identity. They don’t know what they’re saying.

JenWave1995@jenwave1995.bsky.social

When trans creators are subtle, people dismiss the trans subtext as “headcanon.” When trans creators are loud and proud, people call it “obnoxious” and “cringe.” They just don’t want us to be represented in media at all. Because they don’t want us to exist at all.

i don't think anyone should run explicitly on banning online gambling but i do think that a democratic-led government should just quietly take steps to undermine the industry and create an inhospitable regulatory environment

David Brauer@dbrauer.net

Lula won in part by banning online gambling

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

if yuri of absence is the lezphilosophie of emergent longing in the negative space of the world around two, then yuri of presence is something like the infinite world existing within the moment of two: wanting to touch each other so much and everywhere you basically melt into each other

If it's the sound political strategy you claim to believe it is, what are you worried about, you'll more than make those lost votes up in disgusting centrists, right? Right? But you know deep down it doesn't work like that

hexdrake.bsky.social reposted

I think people intuitively understand that democratic candidates tossing trans kids to the wolves is not only morally repugnant but also politically ineffective, otherwise they wouldn't freak out every time someone said they weren't voting for a democrat who did this

American conservatives are constantly bemoaning the decline of aesthetic standards and calling for a return to tailored suits and classical Roman architecture, but are now forced to defend the Cheesecake Factory. A constant tension between the Brooks Brothers patrician and the Kid Rock populist.

Anti-trans Democrats are spreading poison when we can least afford it, during elections in this ongoing fascist takeover. As a strategy, it’s a recipe for failure. As a moral stand, it’s reprehensible. PS I’m the father of young trans woman and I’ll never forgive anyone who makes her life harder.

thinking fondly again of the college girl at the donut place, who made a little muslim boy bounce giddily out the door after she told him his donut was free, and who waved me away and said "you're good" when it was my turn to pay and then, when asked if there was a deal that day said "i hate my job"

i see this all as being downstream of an elephant in the room: police departments have accumulated so much power—and the consent to hold that power from most voters—that our elected officials believe their personal safety and the peaceful transfer of power depends on having their political support.

Extremely important thread! The VAST majority of GCs are men, not women, and it is right wing men who are the main purveyors of the ideology. Gender critical women are *extremely* rare.

May “Bunny” Peterson 🦄@goddessblade.bsky.social

Many, many people focus their understanding of transphobia on cis women and cis women’s movements, such as TERFs, GCs, or anxiety around “female spaces.” To the point that cis female gender anxiety gets blamed for the entirety of transphobia. I do not like this! It is misleading and it is misogyny.
