yep, surprise: it's slop! here's a great example of how this shit ruins everything: "people've talked about all the trouble they went through to do this, any thoughts?" "i asked the slop machine. picking colors was hard"

I'll be real when I see the sentiment become "I don't even care who makes it, I just need another Mass Effect game!" It's like ok, so you don't actually care about the game OR the people who made it, you just Love Brand. Then I'm glad it's dead, that you may finally learn of life's impermanence.

NEW: Remedy's latest game, Control Resonant, is filled with art galleries. The galleries are filled with real art When I began talking to Remedy about it, I was delighted to discover who the artists are: many are the game developers' parents My story... www.gamefile.news/p/control-re...

gamefile.newsWho made the art inside Control Resonant? When the developers of Control Resonant needed to fill their video game version of New York City with art galleries, they tapped the talents of people they knew particularly well

it's been 4 years and this still hasn't become a thing yet (lots of regional ones though!). just gently nudging it back out to the universe.

I know absolutely nothing about Lula except that i saw someone share a clip on insta of him in celebration kissing a trans woman politician on the cheek and oh my god is that a radical act for a politician in 2026 so lets fucking go

"this game is live-generated by AI as you play!" I look up the dev dev is a current google employee yeah that sounds like who can afford to spend more money on AI tokens than the game sells for

man, this whole thread

although i do try and hold a more nuanced view like "machine translation good, extractive corpus bad, duty of care missing" i simply do not have the time or energy or good faith to talk about the finer points, especially when it feels like people are simply carving out exceptions for themselves

who should be the mayor of LA is not an academic question. it is a real one that will determine the lives of people who will live under the power of that mayor. There are Angelenos who's lives will be literally thrown in a garbage can and burned if karen bass wins.

the secret about developing my skillset is that i do it by doing one of my favorite things in the world. the times in my life where i get frustrated by art are just the times when i forget that

pikat@pikat.io

i often get asked something like, "how do you deal with knowing that reaching your art goals is going to take a long time?" but truthfully, i dont expect to reach them with my capabilities, crossing the gulf between my current art and my goals doesnt seem possible in a lifetime

NEW: I spoke with current and former EA employees to understand how the latest layoff round played out and the realities of daily life at the U.S. publisher. The short version? EA is controlled by an executive class that "cannot fail, only be failed." Workers, then, will always pay the price.

"I don't want to work at this place anymore:" EA workers decry mismanagement and corporate greed after mass layoffs Current and former EA employees paint a bleak picture of daily life at one of the video game industry's most prominent publishers

why the fuck is discord like a first-party sony game now why is it constantly popping up tutorials to for shit i dont need when i open a chat window man

A useful lens on the concept of social murder takes the form of a question: "What the fuck am I supposed to do now?" Because the unspoken answer, always, is "die." "WTF am I supposed to do now I can't get SNAP/Medicaid/HRT?" The answer is "die." The purpose of a policy is what it does: kill.

"so what they are just going to vote republican" no, they are going to pack their shit and move to somewhere else where their child will be safe. this shit isn't a game, its life and death for years now we have been witnessing an internal trans refugee crisis in the states for this reason

The fundamental rot at the heart of the Democratic Party is the absolute refusal to acknowledge this reality. That no matter how horrible the consequences of policy, the leadership and its sycophants will not ever admit to the unspoken death toll beneath it. Transphobia kills people.

But the entire party is riddled with people who refuse to acknowledge that any policy is anything other than an academic dispute, even as the bodies continue to pile up. Because to do so would be to admit their own complicity in the systems that lead to this social murder. It would break kayfabe.
