Victim blaming season is back, alongside darker evenings and mornings. But perhaps it’s time to recognise that like “cities aren’t loud; cars are loud”, our roads aren’t dangerous by themselves. It’s the motor vehicles on them that create the danger and that perhaps it’s time to address the source.

The Australian government is anti-immigrant and have been for a long time -- unless you have money or will make someone money as controlled labour. They're even c***s if you have been married for many years and try to return with your spouse to Australia.

No one should have to choose between the life they’ve built here in Australia and the parents they left behind. The Greens are fighting for a system that lets families have both. Because of a go-slow on processing by Govt a parent visa today means waiting 18 to up to 42 years.

St Marys Airport? Slowly changing the wayfinding now Sydney has two airports. Interestingly they don't show the ✈️ at Town Hall. They've started rolling out SYD signs too, but there's a lot to do and honestly they should just rename the stations.

China installed 61GW of wind and 111GW of solar power in Jan-Sep. Wind tracks last year's record pace, while solar is down from that but tracks 2023 which saw a respectable 200GW added. With energy demand growth slowing, clean energy has a good shot at covering all demand growth.

Absolutely incredible bike tour of Sydney from Sara Stace. If you don’t know her she is a force for change. While I sit around complaining she is out there changing things from the inside that leads to real change on the ground.

Very saddened by the death of Walter Koenig. Obviously everyone is talking about Chekov, but I wanna shout out his work on Babylon 5. TOS actors were a joke in the '90s, but Koenig was flawless as The Villain Who Thinks He's The Hero and the smiling face of your friendly neighbourhood fascist.

I live in a rural town and, like, I don't know how to tell you this, but the girls play on the boys team and vice versa all the time because otherwise we don't have enough players for a game and it's literally always fine so stop being weirdos about kids sports and just let trans kids play.

The world is struggling to relearn the lessons from the Gilded Age, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit : Oligarchy is awful & incompetent and will destroy everything including those very oligarchs. Hopefully we'll respond with a new progressive movement.
