I sometimes wonder how much the fact that Health ministers are usually drawn from the demographic that uses the NHS the least (able bodied, white men, young-middle aged) is a factor in it's issues. It probably plays a part in the obsession with apps and convenience over continuity and human contact.

They're obsessed with inserting the private sector. More shareholders to take a cut of an ever dwindling budget, leaving a poorer service and fewer staff. The bungs and kickbacks help the decision making.
