I was supposed to leave Lord Howe Island today but my ✈️ flight has been cancelled due to weather. Not sure when I’ll be able to leave. Oh, well 🤭🏝️

Good news: As well as suffering from the general shittening of the internet, Google Scholar has now decided that my 2019 monograph was, in fact, published in 1945!

Drawing political conclusions before we really know anything about the perp and their motives? That never happened before!

Dr Helen Haines is fighting for her life after a horrific car attack, yet media applies no pressure on Pauline Hanson to remove her cartoon of political rivals inc Albanese being mowed down by a car. Political violence isn't satire, it’s dangerous. Hanson should remove it & apologise.

This shows why the airlines prefer to land over the lagoon at Lord Howe Island, rather than over Blinky Beach, when the Sooty Terns are breeding. Sometimes, though, the winds mean they have to 😬

Richard Marles represents the rot in Australian politics. His allegiance to the arms industry over Australian sovereignty is self serving at best....

The conclusion is as follows: the restrictions are in effect on the territory of Ukraine, but they do not apply in EU countries," Zelenskyy said. ‼️ Starlink restrictions in Ukraine are costing lives.

michaelwest.com.au/its-working-... Things to dance about. Prices coming down will help the country look after everyone here, ensure a standard of living that aligns with our values and standards and all notions of “a fair go”. I for one hope to see the rents follow. So far nothing. 🤔 #auspol

We (Dad and I) made it to Lord Howe Island yesterday. We’ve just picked up our rattle-trap hire bikes and are grabbing ☕️ where we can get wi-fi. All on-track 😃

Live streams of executions. I can’t even fathom the depravity of a nation or a person that wants to see such a thing. That it’s part of a societies “justice” system, makes me wonder about that society. Not a good one. A very sick one. 😔 #auspol

The USA is so broken it will never be repaired. And a reminder, Richard Marles believes we need to have even stronger defence ties with the USA because of our "shared values"

The (successful 👏) rodent eradication program (plus getting rid of pigs and goats) has allowed native and endemic species (and island-specific sub-species) to recover from near extinction. Such as the lovely little LHI Woodhens, which are now thriving:

Indeed we do. Inflation rising, rates and unemployment increasing. They pick us off as they just pick up and start again.

Restructuring needed asap - give Australia at least 51% control of all resources that come from our land. Right across the board. Seek to regain the wealth of our nation explicitly to ensure Australians always do well for it, and help others after helping ourselves. #auspol #commonsensepolicy

And it’s time they insisted on owning at least 51% control of all resources mining and extraction and production and ensured Australia benefits “the most” from our countries resources. Japan can have 49% share. But we control it. That’s a far better outcome I think. #gas #auspol #resources #auspol
