CEO may as well demand a kajillion dollars revenue, sounds exactly as reasonable. This is really another facet of "everyone is 12" holding strong.
Big cuts, but Xbox has managed to avoid closing any studios today. Double Fine and Compulsion go indie. Ninja Theory and Undead Labs will have new owners. Arkane Lyon process starts today. CEO Asha Sharma wants Xbox to reach 1bn players a day (it currently hits 1bn a year).

Should be noted, the bishop himself was asked this question by one of the deacons (at the request of a shy but devout parishioner) and he assured us it was still just one gathering in the Lord's name because there was only one parking lot. John Steinbock (the bishop) was known to be kinda funny.
Coming up extremely Catholic I recall the bishop attending mass at the local church for the first time since its grand opening. They had overflow seating set up downstairs and even outside, with CCTVs. Someone asked if that was technically communion because it was a separate gathering.
Why are they framing this around Costco _at all_‽ It's literally just "impulse buys add up over a lifetime". Nothing to do with Costco beyond "you can impulse buy there like you can anywhere", and 100% "you're poor because you enjoy yourself occasionally" messaging. Fuck all this.
Warehouse clubs like Costco are designed to help save consumers money.

“Vance admits that, about ‘half the time these days, we attend Mass at home.’ (Your book is called “Communion,” my brother!)”

Another reason why I prefer "never vote for a Republican, don't be dumb" over "the Democrats are great" is: it's way more effective rhetoric at getting people to vote Democrat.
These are admittedly fine lines for me to draw, but one reason why I'm a "never, under any circumstances, vote for a Republican" guy, and NOT a "the Democrats are great!" guy is because I don't want to be on the hook for the vast crowd of unserious people who staff a lot of unelected positions.
"I risk opening a can of worms" You knew you were about to say some bullshit you have no evidence for out on a stage with an audience that was going to call you on your bullshit. Yeah bro, that's a can of worms ain't it.
I risk opening a can of worms, but I’ve rarely seen such coordinated intensity directed at an elected official with no major scandal as the targeting of the highest-ranking Black Democrat, Hakeem Jeffries.
we used to throw water balloons at cars at night. you had to time it just right from the overlook, but you'd only time against the headlights. once the guy let go of the balloon and immediately said "cop!" and what a night that was.
When people talk about taking kids' devices away w/o addressing how they have fuck all else to do, I think about the insane shit all the bored suburban kids I knew got up to before cell phones You can't just take their phones away or they're gonna get into making homemade napalm & burn a field down

I remember my friend's older brother smashing his PC/CD game collection in a violent rage, for instance. I remember getting propositioned on the Internet by grown men as a 12 year old boy in a chat room. I remember when EVERY chat room had Nazis and that was just the norm.
I don't think this is nostalgia speaking because I was barely conscious, but I'm genuinely glad I get to experience a tiny slice of the 90s, when games and music were a physical thing that gets passed around, when the Internet was a destination we went to on our computers, when life was tactile.

I made a new t-shirt that I think has an important message about the future and also about friendship and i think maybe you will like it roryblank.bigcartel.com
i was at a water park over the weekend and overheard a rotund little child of no more than 11 singing this song to himself the kids don't even have their own music anymore imagine being 11 and the song you choose to sing is an academy award winning hit from a quarter century ago
If I could go back in time to meet with Joe Biden in 2021, he would witness the most intense version of Lose Yourself ever performed.
Balloon go up, see where balloon go. He's decided he wants to run, he's just getting ahead of things and putting a balloon up to see which way the wind is going about it. Anyway.
Kelsey Grammer says he has ‘wrestled’ with the idea of running for political office. He regrets not fighting in Vietnam, and sees politics as a way to give back.

Pretty big story here. First on it. LAPD officers accused of discrimination and unlawful searches, according to internal disciplinary records that also identify them as participants in what California law defines as a law enforcement gang. latenfour.com/2026/06/25/l...
I don't recall LAPD had ever really even admitted "law enforcement gangs" exist (they do). Just that alone seems a pretty significant deal. Two guys don't make a gang. The implication is there's other known members of this gang they aren't reprimanding, and we should ask why.

Wanted to call attention to language. altNOAA employs a linguistic trick that tells me they're not just a passionate rube cosplaying but someone who's actually trained to argue in public.
absolutely amazing. just straight up lying and then immediately doubling down on the lying bc it Really Makes You Think

"remember who got us in this position? well she wouldn't be complaining about where we are now, but coercing these newly elected officials into changing the values which got them elected by their constituents"
One thing about Pelosi as an establishment leader: she wouldn’t be whining with this “how dare you run for our seats” stuff. She’d be trying to convert and make the new electeds work for the establishment.
Legit though, winning elections throws a wrench in their goals. They're justifiably upset and taken off guard by that and it cuts directly into their bottom line (and they know that). There's no sarcasm anywhere here, winning is a problem for the business structure that is the DNC.
The Democratic Party freaking out that Democratic Party candidates are winning is the most Democratic Party thing ever.
There's something to say about the freedom that gives a guy like Mamdani in his office. Most politicians hold themselves back because they're constantly eyeing future office. Maybe selecting for ambition isn't the best way to go lead a society? Maybe there's a historical analog to such a notion?
It's kind of funny that, as of June 2026, it would be hard to argue against the idea that Zohran Mamdani is the Dems' most promising and obvious 2028 candidate ... but he's just not eligible for the job.
Maybe if your party listened to its constituents instead of trying to reach across the aisle to fascists and operate as a fundraising professional loser, this would've played out differently?
I say this with no ill will or animosity: if you hate the Democratic Party, then please don’t run for our nomination. Don’t use our resources. Don’t rely on our volunteers. Don’t use our infrastructure. Don’t ask Democrats to invest their time, money, and energy in your campaign.
