I think websites underestimate how much of a deterrent phone-based two-factor authentication can be. If my phone's in another room, I'm more likely to shop/browse/socialize elsewhere than retrieve it. A second option, like email verification, would be just peachy, thank you.

self affirmations are going to come back as soon as AI victims realize it's like giving a prompt to yourself. you are a skilled person who brings value to those around you. you are cherished by your friends and family. you give your love freely and receive it in bounty. do not use em dashes.

According to Trump, Iran wants to make a deal badly and is begging to surrender to him because they are completely destroyed but he doesn’t want to accept that so the war must continue and he will bomb them again very strongly and powerfully right after the midterm elections.

If I could give advice to a version of myself from 20 years ago, I'd warn myself not to get floor-model window AC units, because my cats turn them on and off about six times apiece, daily.

He's now resorting to trying to buy the election. Federal law makes it unlawful to knowingly and willfully pay, offer to pay, or accept payment for registering to vote or for voting. (52 U.S.C. §10307(c).) Any type of incentive is considered “payment.”

This is one of the more tone-deaf UX things I've seen in a while. I leave my desktop on at all times. What if I'm in California, at Brighton SEO (like I'll be next week) on my laptop and my desktop is 3k miles away? What if it was on my work computer and I'm on my laptop at home?

Is your website using antiquated HTML?

Vale@vale.rocks

Sometimes you look at an old HTML document and see some weird tags and snippets from bygone eras. I've complied many legacy HTML bits I've noticed and documented what they were and why there were present. Many of them are rather obscure. Satisfy your curiosity: vale.rocks/posts/html-r...

Got it - it's specific to the requested resource, it doesn't matter where it was embedded. The goal is to make sure that the number of requests sent to the server don't cause problems for the server.

Pro-tip: with ChatGPT adding "official" to many more fan-out queries, it's a good time to consider whether adding "Official" makes sense to things like official brand homepage <title> tags (e.g. "Official Site"). 🧵

I wanted to illustrate to someone today the unfair advantage men have over women in almost all scenarios. I asked Google "Who are the 15 most popular superhoes of all time?" It's so telling that not only are the top four heroes men, they also have "man" spelled out in their superhero names.

I also appreciate the savvy marketing format used to promote advancedlinktraining.com at the end. I encourage my clients to promote their webinars, white papers, and so forth by providing something of real value, with a "let me give you even more!" feel to the CTA at the end. This nailed that.
