Haven't made any animated gifs in a while since I've been concentrating on javaScript. Here's one called 'INT=RCHANGE'. It uses the full amount of frames an animated gif allows and had some tricky colour table challenges. Here it is in glorious MP4 form.

New w @pamherd.bsky.social: Mamdani just announced PIT Crew — an NYC tech unit that will build digital public products. Takeaway: Mamdani is reclaiming a vision of tech in govt for progressives, one not driven by consultants and which solves real problems. 🧵 donmoynihan.substack.com/p/mamdani-in...

At my mum’s in England helping out with care. Made a banging omelette the other day with cheese, tomato, spinach, a little garlic & chorizo - cooked in butter. Mum scoffed hers down at dinner. Was wondering how it would go if I switched to olive oil - remembering omelettes I had in Croatia… ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Near the end of my Shanghai to Heathrow flight we were served a brioche pocket with just mayonnaise in it. Objectively a serviceable sandwich but I was, and still am, confused about it. (China Eastern Airways). A cultural decision? A common sandwich in China? An improvised last call?

A much cleaner alternative to lithium batteries is on the way Sodium-ion uses sodium to carry the charge inside the battery, rather than lithium. “It’s the same raw material that goes into table salt,” Dales said. “It’s an abundant element.” www.motherjones.com/environment/...

Hundreds of thousands of Albanians have been protesting for over a week to revolt against their corrupt govt as well as criminal slumlord traitor Jared Kushner and Crimestress Ivanka for plotting to seize their land. Americans could learn a thing or two on how it’s done.

$15 of veggies at the local Asian store - the Fejoias are almost half the price of what they sell for at the duopoly. People are struggling and the big supermarkets aren’t budging an inch.

Yassssss!!! - they have epic anchovies in our local supermarket and on ube bread they are 👌 Also I took the kids out porcini hunting and whilst we only found three little ones, two were enough for a fantastic pecorino and porcini omelette - a rival to a whitebait pattie scale of nom

In Silicon valley over break and have to say this place makes no sense. Its like one big suburb with blah strip miles and low slung commercial "historic" "downtowns." The great irony of tech companies complaining about Europe is they live in a place where you literally can't build anything.

As a huge fan of Defender as a kid, surprised to have only just discovered Blaster. Quite trippy looking game but it looks a wee bit repetitive and doesn't appear to have the variety within a level, opting instead to have multiple level types. The 'game map' screen is pretty wild though.

film flubs: in the movie spartacus (1960), several different characters identify themselves as spartacus. this scene was mistakenly left in the final cut of the film

Now that the next chapter could be that a ground force is sent to Iran to run around deserts, caves (and now additional new environments such as coastal deserts, mangroves and forests) to find the 'weapons' - perhaps the 'brave warriors of ICE' could be sent along to do it?

“CPI would upgrade the country's ability to understand and react to inflation.” - I think the supermarkets are reacting already

"Is an uptick in prices in a month a signal of changing pricing pressures? Or is it just that a certain product wasn't on special as much that month, or something else like that?" - Brad Olsen, economist. Like political polls, fanciful narrative will increase.
