Speaking of Jane Goodall, my favorite quote by her: “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”

Trump, again, making nonsensical claims that Dems will be cheating if they win Minnesota's Senate race, a blue state where the Dem is ahead in polls. Same thing he's doing with Alaska's Senate race, where the Dem is ahead in polls. Also Trump LOST Minnesota three times.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Let's all get behind Michele Tafoya in MN. She's running a great race. Don't allow them to play with the Votes after the race is over. The Federal Govt will be watching closely. The only way she can lose is if they cheat. We can't allow that to happen, because I won MN three times ... "

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

This was like his 3rd glitch during the speech where he just randomly stops mid-sentence and makes a weird noise or, in this case, just opens his mouth and freezes for 3 seconds while saying nothing, then continues. Pretty sad that TV networks refuse to cover this situation.

A Sept. national survey by telecomm company NumberBarn, which screened 1,000 adults, found 72% of people who replied STOP to a political text message kept getting political messages after. Nearly half said getting too many calls or texts made them view that candidate less favorably.

An obvious reason for the surge in the frequency of political messaging is that the amount of money in this election cycle has also surged. More than $10 BILLION has already been spent on ads in the 2026 election cycle, a record high on track to surpass spending in the 2022 + 2024 elections.

I replied to a text from a GOP candidate that I would never vote for a Republican in this lifetime...and immediately got a blitz of different texts from all the GOP candidates in my area. 🙄 It felt malicious. I'm also getting texts from Florida where a fraudster tried to impersonate my husband.

Some people are getting 10-20 texts a DAY. One guy said he basically can't use his text app anymore, it's too inundated with spammy fundraising requests. Several people said they've blocked numbers asking for donations, only to get the exact same message from other numbers.

Jeff, a Georgia voter, said he made one donation in late Sept and has been drowning in text messages ever since. He gave up trying to keep deleting them and is now saving them up to see how many gets before the election. His current count from the last two weeks? 438.

“I feel like I’m being penalized by the campaigns that I’ve supported," said Barbera Speros of Tampa, Florida. She said she's now getting an enormous amount of political texts and emails -- every hour. "Beyond ridiculous."
