The wait is over… Anti-Fascist Economics is out now! 🌹🌾 Writing a book is a very lonely journey, and yet no one can do it alone. I’m so, so grateful to my family and friends who have had my back throughout this process and for all the guidance from my editors across three countries and my agency.

Note: limiting Starlink to 160kph doesn’t affect strikes on refineries. Those are inside Russia where Starlink doesn’t work. So there isn’t even a wrong theory under which it lowers diesel prices. It just stops drone strikes against Russian forces in Ukraine, so Ukraine can’t defend itself.

Does arresting the wife of an enlisted man and mother of four US citizen children, a person who’s been here since she was 6 years old, make our country great again?

Andy Burnham is doing a weirdly good job of reversing my priors on whether a party can sustainably improve its position by swapping out an ineffective leader for a somewhat more energetic one with basically the same policies.

Luke Tryl@luketryl.bsky.social

Burnham has a large lead on preferred Prime Minister. 30% name Burnham as their preferred PM, compared to 22% for “none of them”, 15% for Badenoch, and 14% for Farage.

Sam Freedman@samfr.bsky.social

New post: Burnham has opened the door to a "rejoin" manifesto pledge. The politics make more sense than a lot of people seem to realise. I look at what it would involve at every step from pledge to referendum. There are significant barriers but it can be done. samf.substack.com/p/the-route-...

Melenchon has a realistic plan for solving France's chronic deficit problem. He wants to default on its debt. If France does this, no one will buy any bonds it issues, and it will immediately have to implement severe austerity, slashing spending by at least 5% of GDP to get its deficit down to 0.
