Fancy a 168 page print film magazine, on really nice paper, jam-packed with stories, and shining the light on films that don't have superhero capes in them? Our latest issue is on sale here. We're 100% independent, and every sale helps us. buff.ly/iAx9LJg

China’s first AI-generated theatrical feature has flopped, earning just $181,000 in its first weekend. By contrast, the scrappy ‘Niu Lai’ turned its crude animation into a viral attraction, grossing nearly $10 million a couple of months ago. www.cartoonbrew.com/box-office-r...

What’s that you say? Liz has a new book out which even the Telegraph is saying is even more unhinged than the last one? Wonderful, I’ll post this then.

Print film media. It's lonely, but it's worth it.

I've seen literally one smart and effective use of AI on the big screen, and that was in Ali G: Who Iz I, where it was used very amusingly to show what an idiot he is.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

RIP Walter Koenig. Of all his moments on Star Trek, one of his finest was accurately portraying an officer stuck doing bridge duty while massively hungover (Star Trek VI)

Rest in peace, Walter Koenig, died aged 89 with his surviving family around him. He had a long and full life, but this is how I first saw him in Star Trek and to me he is forever Ensign Chekov, forever young.

I quite like being thick, and not understanding why a company burning through $12bn+ in losses a month is worth $1.8tn.

I know I say this every time, but it's true. They try to make you believe they are inevitable, when in fact they are defeatable. They do this because once people believe they will always win, there's no point fighting back.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.
