With all due respect to Biddy Blas, Sebula telling the story of "the day of the heat vents" is easily the funniest bit in Galactic Racer so far.

TIL that the opening of Onimusha 3 was directed by Takashi Yamazaki, director of Godzilla: Minus One! Sadly, nearly every upload of it is a stretched, GenAI abomination. So, I ripped and painstakingly upscaled what I consider the greatest video game cinematic ever from its 2007 PC release! Enjoy!

Okay, maybe some bumper stickers are actually pretty good.

I noticed the other day that my wife (with help from @kamkonek.bsky.social) put this on our car.

#ResidentEvil movie was so good! Takes a lot of inspiration from the mood of the games while still doing its own thing. Plenty of fun Easter eggs from the source material while not rehashing bunch of stuff we’ve all seen before.

I forget where I read it originally, but someone commented that Onimusha is a ‘horror game where the protagonist refuses to accept they are in a horror game’ and that lives rent free in my head now. Mushashi is too cool to be afraid.

I’m reading the forth book in the Earthsea series, and it’s amazing. The tone was… different, different enough that I looked it up to see what the hell happened. It was written 20 years after the previous book! You think waiting for Winds of Winter is bad? Ha!

The iPhone Duo looks really cool until you look at the price tag. I've been trying to buy my phones outright without a carrier contract and man it's just not going to happen. Yikes.

This is a public service reminder that your coffee maker probably has a little water filter in it you didn’t know about and it’s time to replace that filter.

Wrong. Goku would simply be disinterested in Road Runner because he displays cunning not strength. Vegeta on the other hand, would spend 5 episodes of B story getting his shit rocked.

MY DAUGHTER: I think Wile E. Coyote was my favorite character. Or maybe Bugs Bunny hahahaha. Dad, who was yours? ME: [calmly but sternly, with the full weight of my decades of cinephilia and overschooling] The single richest character in the history of American cinema is Daffy Duck.

This is cool and probably amazing life saving technology. I simply cannot trust drones though. Obviously I would accept a rescue by one, but I’d be just a little disappointed. Like, “I’m saved… probably!”

Getting closer to looking like a cereal crop field? Still orange kinda, but I don’t think I hate it? My first rookie mistake was choosing such a large canvas. I think after this one I’m going to be buying small practice canvases, softer brushes, and some acrylic medium. #art #painting

I’m aiming for a blue sky meeting a wheat field but I may have painted ocean meeting sand. Also, acrylic needs to calm down and let me blend. Might need a medium? #painting #art

This created a great opportunity for me to tell my kids everything I know about Mothra.

Wow, okay. These happy meal toys are actually super sick; about as sick as I’m going to be eating enough happy meals to collect them all.

Man, Framework is building some of the coolest laptop tech right now. I'll be shopping for a new laptop in about... 10 years so hopefully they are still around then.

Framework@frame.work

The Framework Laptop 12, updated. Up to 70% longer battery life. Fingerprint reader in the power button. Backlit keyboard with open source ZMK. Intel® Core™ Series 3 (Wildcat Lake), now with Core 7. Thunderbolt 4 for eGPU. And a Fedora Linux pre-built configuration. Pre-orders open now: frame.work

.... annnnnd apparently they are evil? Fuck, come on it's 2026 I shouldn't have to check if a company supports nazis every time I think about buying something.

The Iron Man movies did a weirdly good job describing Jarvis as a language model which then only reached AGI when it became Vision. It also portrayed Tony working with Jarvis in a way that closely resembles agentic coding. Which leads me to this question: Was the Iron Man suit vibecoded

I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

USA TODAY Opinion@usatodayopinion.usatoday.com

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

Using a stainless steel pan: oh wow, this is great! Why doesn’t everyone just cook with these? Cleaning a stainless steel pan: oh

You never eat a hotdog so bad it ruins your night? Like, not tummy problems. Emotionally? Like, very disappointing and now you’re wondering what led you to that choice? I did.

I love how much of the odyssey is just about the perils of being southern European: - it’s hard to make your buddy be quiet in public so you don’t all get in trouble - sometimes other people are taller than you which is scary

I firmly believe that The Odyssey came out earlier in the year to avoid competing with #CoyoteVsAcme

Final trailer for ‘COYOTE VS. ACME’ has been released. In theaters August 28. #CoyoteVsAcme

You know, since a PDS is just sitting there storing my files, there’s really nothing stopping me from hosting a full on website, right? Like, package up a little single pager as a record. Maybe some DNS fuckery to tie it to a domain name? Anyone try anything like that yet? #ATProto #WebDev

Oh, probably need a browser extension or thin AppView to convert from PDS record to the raw binary or zip or whatever. Hmmm….

I am now almost certain I will finish this sometime this year. If anyone out there can see anything obviously wrong I am open to suggestions but also tired and getting sloppy.

I have once again underestimated the complexity of a task. This is usually a coding problem, but every once in a while it’s a concrete and iron problem.
