When Bill Kristol and Indivisible are making the same argument, maybe it's time for the Democrats to pay heed.

Bill Kristol@billkristolbulwark.bsky.social

The Dem establishment and Dem centrists can wring their hands and complain about the results in Colorado. Or they can learn a lesson: Their repudiation was in large part about their perceived unwillingness to stand up firmly and unhesitatingly to Trump. So start doing so!

A proposed rule fueled by Trump’s conspiracy theories would require the USPS to keep a list of voters it believes should be allowed to vote by mail—and give them the power to hold those ballots hostage. Urge them to say NO and help protect voting by mail: act.standupamerica.com/letters/cte-...

It's been decades since I lived in Montgomery AL, but if I were there tomorrow, I would be on the capital grounds at 1pm supporting the rights of all Americans to have real voting power and demanding the halt to redistricting that disenfranchises black and minority voters. Stories of record-breaking farm foreclosures and $4.50 gasoline are side-by-side with the news of a Republican proposal to spend $1 billion on a ballroom. This is the "Let them eat cake" moment. Connecting the dots earlier is the difference between the Progressive Era and the French Revolution

Completely agree! It is time to bring a motion for the War Powers resolution to the floor!

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social Congress, not Trump, has the prerogative to declare war. His illegal war violates the U.S. Constitution & International Law. Enforce the War Powers Resolution & end U.S. involvement in Iran! I’m a Voter. #DemsGrowASpine #CallYourRep #PGAS NY08 app.sosha.ai/s/efGxG1h2

patiently explaining to national political reporters that the people who organize No Kings are also doing the daily advocacy, voter registration, mutual aid, and immigrant defense, and that just because the cameras show up for the big crowd does not mean that work did not exist before and after

Mark Jacob@markjacob.bsky.social

The NY Times saves its harshest skepticism for progressives. Instead of being impressed by 3,000+ coordinated protests, NYT dismisses the value of “hitting a number” and asks if No Kings will be “a primal scream that fades into a whimper.” F off, NY Times. We'll defeat fascism w/o you. (Gift link)

The ICE surge in Minnesota isn’t over — it just moved outside of the Metro. ICE agents are still terrorizing innocent people in the suburbs. They’re targeting bus stops and hospitals and parks and being more deceptive than ever. This isn’t over until ICE is out of the ENTIRE state.

Sahan Journal@sahanjournal.bsky.social

Minnesota residents and lawmakers say the promised drawdown has not materialized, and they are seeing ICE use more covert tactics to continue operations across Twin Cities suburbs. By @ncsscibelli.bsky.social

Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.” Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him. White. Hot. Rage.

Trump at Davos, shifted between talking about Greenland and Iceland. Does he know that they are not the same? Regardless, the world got an unvarnished display of racist mendacity merging with ignorance and narcissism. Or as the @nytimes.com would say, "Trump delivered some remarks"

A special session of the Organization of American States is ongoing. So far, Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil have been most direct in their criticisms of U.S. abduction of Maduro.

Maybe Panama has presented the most convoluted response, referencing the 1989 U.S. invasion as a part of its democratizing process. Only Honduras has called out Trump by name and identifying U.>S action as kidnapping.

Most states have obliquely criticized U.S. with statements supporting international law and national sovereignty and multilateral action. El Salvador condones U.S. behavior.

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

I'll say it again, the tariff system is being put in place by very rich men at the top of the U.S. power system and they'll be fine whatever happens. It's worth keeping that in mind when you see something like this from the president.

Michael Derby@michaelsderby.bsky.social

Trump to American business leaders: If the tariffs wreck your company, it's your fault.

The NYT use of the word 'overhaul' is a purposeful editorial choice to gloss over the wanton destruction of American diplomatic capability and expertise. A fire in the employee cafeteria at Foggy Bottom might garner a stronger headline.

Rereading Foucault's Discipline&Punish. Foucault's critique of the personal power of the sovereign to punish is exemplified in Trump's approach to the pardons and the DOJ. Taking us back to the 17th Century!
