This is just the maddest argument. These people would trap us in poverty to keep a decade old commitment, which no one ever actually made, to an electorate which no longer exists.
“The perception that promises can subsequently be revisited by a political establishment removed from the realities of working communities has left lasting scars”, writes Labour MP @melanieonnmp.bsky.social 🗣️ EU free movement debate risks undermining voter trust www.politics.co.uk/2026/10/mela...

Let’s eradicate our life support systems – that’ll teach the liberals! It's not just about giving destructive industries what they want, important as this is. The likes of Trump and Bolsonaro will kill the planet out of a vengeful desire to hurt. My column. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Exactly.
“Brexiters continue to say we were right to leave the EU. But only if they include the dead, exclude the young and ignore buyers’ remorse can they still say they have democracy on their side.” So, Brexit fails on every single metric. Let’s bin it off for good. kellnerp.substack.com/p/britains-p...

Nice people. At least they would've been fully-vetted. Otherwise, how would reform have allowed them to join?
Reform's deputy leader on Solihull Council quit to be an independent yesterday, saying it was for personal reasons by mutual consent. It came a day before ITV news broadcast his racist comments when filned undercover. He says mass deportations must make Britain 99% white

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8dc... I'm not sure that reform's "...secretary & general secretary conduct investigations all the time..." isn't the 'win' that he thinks that it is. Why are they so busy investigating internally?

I think in reality what socialism actually means in the American context is that trillionaire Elon Musk got $38 billion from the U.S. government and you got rejected trying to buy a $1 soda on SNAP benefits.
Q: How do you define socialism personally? JD VANCE: I think in reality what it actually means in the American context is you want to replace American workers with foreigners workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports

Byline Times, doing the reporting that one doesn't see in the more hysterical media.
Dover and Portsmouth have seen another round of anti-migrant protests. But this time something is different: black-clad, masked activists, an organised “Christian army”. Is Britain’s far right developing a new model of mobilisation?

Ffs. Well, it’s up to us to make sure that their grubby ‘investment’ is a phenomenal waste of money. Reform is a shitshow of crooks and idiots who have no idea how to behave, let alone govern. The majority of us who loathe them must unite to keep them out of power forever.
Harborne has given Reform £36 million to match Delo's £36 million. The Telegraph describes it as a "show of force" from Reform's donors. The two men's £72 million is greater than all of the spending by all political parties on the 2024 GE www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/202...

What an arrogantly vile man Harborne is. How patronising to describe his entitled buying up of our democracy as ‘philanthropy’. Get over yourself and go and build some hospitals, fund children out of poverty, eradicate disease… Sticking your grubby wealth in Farage’s pockets can only do us harm.

Any politician calling to leave the ECHR is lying about what that will achieve. It won’t solve any problem or improve our lives It will make us worse off and remove our rights. Just like Brexit. The ECHR belongs to us all. It’s not theirs to take. Please sign www.europeanmovement.co.uk/echr-petition

The fallout from the collapse of this glacier - a torrent of mud surging down the valley - killed hundreds of people. Gone, in a flash. Those people were wiped out by anthropogenic climate change. Our governments are simply not responding quickly enough to this disaster which is already upon us.
An incredibly well-timed Landsat 9 pass captured the effects of yesterday’s catastrophic glacier collapse near the Nepal–Tibet border. The event was so massive that it was detected by seismometers around the world.

If I could choose who should live in our country and who should leave, it would be Nasser to stay and Rupert to go. But unfortunately, all we can do is try to make sure that Rupert’s racism doesn’t ruin the lives of young people like Nasser… and hope that better politicians than Rupert ensure it.
Well-worth reading.
“What I fear…. is the wholesale distortion of democracy whereby a small number of disproportionately loud voices determine outcomes because of the funding they offer.” Farage’s crypto greed exposing him as a threat to our national security and democracy. Again. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...
He's a good bloke, that Mr Carney.
Prime Minister Carney went out of his way to negotiate a trade deal with gangsters. He held Team Canada together despite the constant insults from the MAGA gang. Canada will go more than the extra mile to find common ground but we will never bow and kiss the gangster's ring. We hold the line.
