Take a look at our new report - out today - on how the UK government is leaving out community and environmental groups in its policy-making on data centres...
Who gets a say in the government’s plans for AI Growth Zones and data centres? And who doesn’t?
Our new report, Zoned Out, finds businesses have privileged access to ministers while the communities affected by these plans are largely shut out.

“Wasting a fortune”? No cost has been published for the Government’s emergency-preparedness campaign, and the Daily Mail’s article gives none. Up to 16.2 million people misled. Share the truth: www.hackedoff.org/blog-posts/n...
The biggest and most important win for the environment in years. The pursuit of an end to Amazon deforestation and a fossil fuel phase out will now continue.

The new Ofcom chair's response here is pathetic. I'm flabbergasted at this appointment, how can the Burnham administration waive this through? www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgFh...
OFCOM: "It is not up to us to decide what is trustworthy news and what is not"
So who does ensure news isn't fake?
This is why we have chaos and social collapse.

A headline its own article doesn’t back up. The Daily Mail linked a planned anti-war youth strike to “riots” – and up to 16.2 million people may have been misled. Share the truth: www.hackedoff.org/blog-posts/m...
Press disinformation alert: the Daily Mail told readers Britain “could run out of gas this winter”. Ofgem actually said a gas emergency is not expected. Share the facts: www.hackedoff.org/blog-posts/o...
Up to 16.2 million people misled. Ofgem’s “warning” was a 1-in-20 cold day plus the loss of key infrastructure – a scenario it called very rare, and a deal will address the risk anyway. Repost and help us fight press disinformation.
JUST POSTED: A Russian energy giant has secretly moved to acquire a position in a massive Alaska gas project. Its part of talks between Witkoff/Kushner & Putin. But CEO of US company resigns after learning of Russian money in the project. A wowzer of a story.

No, migrants are not taking four in five new UK jobs. The Telegraph's headline treats a net rise in payrolled jobs as a list of who was hired. It isn't. Help us spread the truth: www.hackedoff.org/blog-posts/n...
The UK government's decision to approve Jackdaw is climate vandalism. More fossil fuels will not benefit Scotland in the short term, and will be actively harmful in the long term.
The problem is not really Jackdaw, which is pretty small. The problem is the UK's plan to transition away from fossil fuels is still not ambitious and detailed enough. The problem is if Rosebank follows. The problem is if every country develops one last fossil fuel project we're all screwed.
'This must be the final chapter for North Sea drilling': Jackdaw approval sparks calls for strengthened plan to end fossil fuel reliance
businessgreen.com/ne...
This is the key point on Jackdaw from the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association. I don't think a new Energy Wealth Fund that may or may not scale, mixed signals on Rosebank, and anonymous briefings about cutting heat pump grants meets this test. www.businessgreen.com/news/4537621...
The signal it gives to every country in the world is we are not in a climate crisis. That it’s ok to drill and dig for fossil fuels .All to appease a far right Trump Government
Burnham is actually turning out even worse than Starmer and that is such a low bar to start with
More lies
More betrayal
Today's decision by Labour to approve new drilling in the North Sea is climate vandalism.
It's a betrayal of all of our futures, and Labour has abandoned all credibility in the fight against climate change.
This is a victory for Shell over the people.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cw...
After a summer of deadly heatwaves, with England in drought, they do this….😡
The Jackdaw gasfield will be given the go-ahead on Wednesday, signalling Andy Burnham’s commitment to the North Sea fossil fuel industry.

🚨 Andy Burnham to approve new fossil fuel drilling in the North Sea.
We should be accelerating the transition away from fossil fuels, not drilling for more.
A betrayal of future generations who will live with the consequences of this climate vandalism.
Big UK banks pocketed £29.2bn in six months while our bills went up! A windfall tax on bank profits would raise £19bn for our schools & NHS.

Why aren’t the rich paying more tax?
Is anyone really expecting John Healey (a so called Labour Chancellor) to answer this question??
youtube.com/shorts/DhbUK...
The government is considering cutting the warm homes plan? That's crazy stuff worthy of Tories or Reform, not Labour!
Heat pumps and insulation would cut UK living costs more than new oilfields, study suggests www.theguardian.com/environment/...
No brainer.
Why do billionaires push for more drilling?
Why do billionaires not push for more solar panels, more heat pumps, more wind turbines.
Could it be that it would give us independence from …..
billionaires?
When Healey was appointed as Chancellor a veteran campaigner got in touch to say how they’d lobbied him as a Minister in the Blair/Brown governments and found him to be remarkably dismissive/borderline hostile to environmental arguments.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Love the multiple synergies in this.

Now we learn that Martha Dalton, a key player in Andy Burnham’s campaign to win the Makerfield byelection, enabling him to become prime minister, was on unpaid leave from the lobbying company she co-founded, Lodestone. Lodestone had done extensive work for Palantir.
EVENT | John Healey’s first budget as chancellor on 28 October is a huge moment for Andy Burnham’s government.

@simonforstroud.bsky.social hi Simon. I read Guy’s book several years ago; I highly recommend it. If the gov’t drags its feet on this it would probably be correct to interpret it as fear to confront the wealthy & powerful. The country is giving Burnham a chance to do just that. Please encourage him.
“No timeline for lifting Land Registry paywall as ownership remains opaque”
Ministers have publicly committed to open up data on land ownership - but the Land Registry themselves are dragging their feet.

Andy Burnham is facing a genuine trade-union split over Rosebank.
Ten unions including UNISON, PCS, NEU and the FBU want the huge North Sea project rejected.
Unite and GMB disagree, warning about jobs and energy security.
Very strangely the 10 trade unions calling on the government not to approve the Rosebank oil field are getting a lot less coverage today than the one trade union calling on the government to green light more fossil fuel projects. www.businessgreen.com/news/4537337...
