Hunter Biden of all people said some true shit and it went viral. People are desperate to see some passion. We're desperate to see fight. My message to Dem leaders and consultants is simple. If Hunter fucking Biden can capture our attention and you can't, maybe that's worth reflecting on.

Wow—the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (named after Raphael Lemkin, a Holocaust survivor who coined the term genocide) says plainly: "No more discussions, meetings, reports, sessions, summits…IF YOU HAVE THE POWER, YOU MUST USE IT." "HISTORY WILL DETERMINE THE RECTITUDE OF YOUR ACTIONS."

not to wade into the discourse but [proceeds to wade into discourse] I don't think that a broad definition of trans people is why we lost Skrmetti, I think we lost because we live in a state whose main lawmaking body is a reactionary unelected council of nine people who decided that fascism is good

i swear at god. I got an email advertising this an hour ago. @humblebundle.com a disclaimer saying that the charity was "not involved in the selection of the content in this promotion" and that the content "do[es] not reflect or represent the views and opinions" doesn't absolve you of anything

Tip for guys who don’t want to be creeps, *especially* with acquaintances or strangers: complimenting choices, rather than attributes, comes off as much more sincere and normal! 😬 “you have beautiful eyes” ✅ “that smokey eye is awesome!” 🤢 anything about body parts ✅ “that is a really cute dress!”

This post is unavailable.

I love when random people compliment my shirt or whatever, and people light up when I compliment their dress or shoes. Being normal is great and makes everyone involved feel good!

a cool thing all of us who get humble bundle emails can do: shit right in their email marketing metrics by opening this e-mail and clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom. email marketers see how many unsubscribes they get from specific emails. make this a problem for them :)

If nothing makes sense, you don't need to have the heroes figure out a logical way to stop the threat. You can just have them pick up a green pepper, pull off the stem and bam, everything's back to normal. What, in a world with flying people, you don't like magic peppers? Really?

The utility of the internet was immediately apparent. Free global communication at a time when long-distance phone calls were charged by the minute and faxes were the only way to send documents quickly? That was adopted at record speed. But "AI" is a solution in search of a problem.

Kat Tenbarge@kattenbarge.bsky.social

Whenever someone gets mad at me for questioning the net usefulness of AI and says something like “you’re like the people who didn’t want to use the internet”—with love, I was born in 1997, and my life growing up online is all the evidence I need that we should handle AI differently than we are now

Sorry but personally if a miniature horse woke me up from anesthesia by banging out nonsense on a miniature keyboard it would send me into a liminal space between life and death from which I would never return

Please… for the love of god, just stop reading Harry Potter. There are other god damn fantasy series out there, and ones that don’t give money and attention to a person helping to directly harm trans people.

I saw someone getting angrily gestured at in traffic the other day, and instead of flipping them off, the other driver did a 🫶🏻 (they were at a stoplight) Somehow it was even more brutal than the middle finger

this is it, this is the language i have needed to talk about the pronoun thing. that they are willing to admit to what would in any other context shameful ignorance

im always taken aback by just how much cis people will humiliate themselves to be dicks to trans people. like sorry, youre confused about pronouns? how did you make it thru 6th grade english you slimy dipshit? why are you going on podcasts to advertise youre too stupid to understand simple concepts?

“More than 670 Palestinians have been killed since May near sites built under a new Israel-backed aid system.” and yet people are still demanding US politicians enthusiastically support this regime. fuck that.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

Israeli soldiers opened fire near a food distribution site in southern Gaza on Saturday, killing at least 32 people, Gazan health authorities said. The UN said this past week that more than 670 Palestinians had been killed in similar episodes near aid sites.

Marco Rubio is really one of the most contemptible people in the administration bc he doesn't even seem like a true believer, he's just a power-hungry, unprincipled piece of shit happy to be cruel if cruelty is what gets you proximity to power

One of the most bonkers responses to survivors who disclose that they’ve been assaulted is, “Well, he hasn’t done that to me!” Like, okay. Congratulations?

The stranger danger panic has convinced a whole lot of people that rapists are never people you know. And they interpret that to mean that, if they know someone—personally or parasocially—that they must be innocent. No matter how many victims come forward.
