Something about existing in the world as a trans woman. *Anything* we do can be interpreted by *someone* as some kind of Weird Sexual Thing. Clothes, hair, hobbies, bodily functions, ordinary pleasures.

A sticker to place anywhere. Like hand dryers, toilet bowls, soap dispensers, alarm keypads, coffee machines, thermostats, pedestrian crossing buttons, BBQs, park benches, parking meters... As well as staplers, pens, potatoes, bricks, brooms, lunch, potplants and speed humps.

Today, I am taking the Belgian coastal tram from De Panne to Knokke. Stop one, after catching the tram at De Panne station: the unfortunately named Plopsaland!

I put this on SFF but since I posted this I am noticing it all over in all kinds of genres. Evil arch-capitalists and conservatives who operate in completely race-blind, gender-blind, queer positive hierarchies. It's bananas to me, particularly in the current moment.

It's weird how many SFF novels do not really want to deal with how unwoke fascism is.

My greatest joy is when #Hookland manifests in the creative work of others. You all own it if you need and want it. It is a pre-enchanted playground to be used. I could never imagine nor produce the county as industrial synthwave artefact, but here it gloriously is as just that.

And now a thread on the many terrible AI calendars I encountered in the pictures from one (1 ) Etsy listing. 1. The planet of the 12 day month, which probably suffers from a lot of tidal trouble what with the moon zipping about like that. 1, 2, 3, 4, Other 4, 5, 15, 6, 10, 31, nu, 20.

I was going to make a self-deprecating joke about 'bad at being a girl', however I realised that I am/was so good at being a girl that it ate through the decades of cultural and cis/het normative programming like xenomorph juice through a handy spaceship. Which, fuuuck.

Cover reveal! Because you asked for it, we are bringing Fight Like A Girl #1 back into print. Here is Oisin McGann's fabulous cover for the new edition.

I will say it is kind of weird how high profile transphobes who are Just Very Concerned About The Safety Of Children universally tend to have at most 2 degrees of separation from Jeffrey Epstein

I don't think people have, as yet, fully grasped the likely societal impact of the fact that generations of women, LGBTQ+ folk and others have suffered, and have simmered with anger, and now, thanks to the Epstein files, we don't just have the abstract concept of patriarchy to blame - we have names.

There's no point trying to give ground to extremists to make them happy. Their lives are dedicated not only to making others miserable, but to the endless pursuit of unhappiness for themselves.

I don't have a soundcloud (I have a mixcloud instead), but I do have a story in this fine anthology.

the confirmation of contemporary transphobia as a political movement has been the brainchild of a boys club made up of some of the most disgusting monsters in recent memory to explicitly keep trans women disenfranchised so as to subjugate and exploit us for their own sexual gain is like a lot, dawg

Julia Rez 🏳️‍⚧️ reposted

People like this are why I assume people are a threat when theyre cishet and especially when theyre white on top of that. They fetishize the existence of lgbtq people and only value us when we dance for them and entertain them. They don't view us as human

as with pretty much everything else labour are doing their position on trans rights is *such* a mistake and a complete misreading of the public landscape. 'gender critical' does not really exist outside of our columnist class. there is no widespread public support for 'gender critical'.

Before Thatcherism ruined the benefits system, Britain produced some of the greatest bands of all time thanks partly to many making music in their spare time - while "unemployed." Could a Universal Basic Income also create unexpected culture for society?

Julia Rez 🏳️‍⚧️ reposted

the biggest lie the british press tell about trans ppl isn't actually about trans ppl. it's their claim that 'gender critical' is a grass roots movement. it's a ruling class bigotry sparked and spurred on by the american religious right. it's a media and political class bigotry.

Please share this widely. There have been 13 peer-reviewed critiques of the Cass Review, to the extent that academia regards it as pseudoscience, but so far all have been subject to organised censorship by mainstream media. This is the first time one has broken through. Oz Guardian only still.

Natacha@natacha.bsky.social

Worked hard to get this into Guardian Oz & big props to @fiercemum.bsky.social for setting it up & Melissa Davey for publishing it. She will doubtless get loads of hassle from transphobes for it, but it needs to be out there. Puberty Blocker bans harm trans kids, no-one should pretend they don’t.

🌈❄️♥️ I love Oxford at Christmas, so I spent some time there in a sapphic romance novella 🙂   Here are some of the elements of when frosty Olivia, whose very warm heart wants to marry Kate, takes a chance at Christmas to propose 💕 Follows the characters from the Oxford Romance series 🌈💥
