Love that it resonates ๐Ÿ™Œ It is core to how we build Kagi - align our incentives with user interests. You win, we win.

Huge prop to @kagi.com for linking directly to their competitors (ddg and Google) and passing the query through That's the opposite of lock-in and makes me think it's worth paying more for Kagi

We believe AI in Kagi should always be useful: there when you want it, gone when you don't, and never at the cost of your privacy. YOU are in control of your search engine - so now you can turn off AI in Kagi Search completely, with one switch. Try it: kagi.com --> Settings --> AI

Today is as good a day as any to switch up your default Kagi companion. Don't forget to look over the community submitted options, too! Log in to kagi.com --> Settings > Appearance > Homepage Companions

Kagi saves my fact-checking ass at least five times a day. Itโ€™s not cheap but worth every penny. The secret sauce is to be able to โ€˜muteโ€™ sites you donโ€™t want showing up in search results โ€” never realized how important that was until I put it in action.

Truly, how?

I installed the developer beta of iOS and it borked the Kagi plugin for Safari. As a result Iโ€™m getting Google results for search, and I have a question โ€” how the fuck are people living like this?

I love Kagi. So worth paying for your own search imo, itโ€™s refreshing not to see ads everywhere for once

Sports scores now show up in a sidebar widget next to search results, so you can quickly check upcoming games, live scores, and recent results, just in time for the World Cup!

Been using Kagi for search recently and I had apparently completely forgotten how well websearches used to work. Wild how much I didn't notice search slowly becoming useless around me over time till I had some contrast.

I gave up on google search years ago, it was horrible, & getting shittier every day, switched to duckduckgo, which was ok, but just switched to @kagi.com for ad-free search & it's worth paying for. It's no longer like every search is an excuse to try to get me to buy something.

I canโ€™t believe Iโ€™m actually paying for search, but my god itโ€™s an incredible time saver and my blood pressure is five points lower. Anyway, @kagi.com is a pleasure to use.

Itโ€™s a slow process leaving the most evil US tech behind where I can but Iโ€™m committed to doing what I can. Kagi has been a brilliant replacement for Google and I finally moved over (including search default and my password manager plugins) to Vivaldi from Chrome and I LOVE the workspaces feature.

We can't stand AI slop either.

The kagi.com search engine has an icon for pages that are probably AI generated and the icon conveys the meaning vividly so it's immediately clear.

@libib.com points its community to Kagi whenever they want a better, mission-aligned search engine, and we're just as happy to point people their way. They organize your whole catalog of books, movies, music, video games, and board games, and neither of us runs ads or tracks you.

Make Kagi truly yours with custom CSS. Tweak colors, fonts, and layout, hide elements you don't need, or apply a community theme for a search experience that looks exactly how you want. blog.kagi.com/tips/custom-...

Agreed. As we noted before, users should not have to jump through workarounds, and developers should not have to engineer them, simply to exercise basic choice on the devices they own. Making it easier for users to set alternative search engines as a default is a win for all, including Apple.

So over the last month, I've compared Duck Duck Go side by side with Kagi and Kagi wins, hands-down. Duck Duck Go seems to use the same AI-neutered algorithm as Google, which means you can't find a damn thing using conventional search methods and then AI lies to you.
