It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

So, unfortunately, I don't see an economic solution for Canadian growth unless we adopt a realist attitude in who we trade with if we're to diversify from the U.S. And lets remember that we happily traded with U.S. who has globally perpetrated the most crimes against humanity since WWII.

I see many individuals post anti national economic deals with nations that may perpetuate human rights abuses, however I am unaware of which nations would be suitable to trade with. I can only think of few, mostly anemic economic nations that don't fit that category.

...and growing nations in terms of population and economies are BRICS nations. 'Western' nations for the most part are desperately struggling economically. Also, I'm not sure that economic 'values' we share with the west, except for post-colonialism, gentrification and military vassalism.
