The plain fact of it is thus: the Trump administration wants to re-segregate higher education. It is a racist project straight-up-no-chaser. Accommodating any of this puts you on the wrong side of history, makes you a collaborator in this project. ballsandstrikes.org/law-politics...

🚨 A federal judge has halted Trump's attempts to close the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center in MD. For decades, experts at BARC have protected our food & farmers, including from threats like cyclospora. We'll keep working to protect BARC & these dedicated civil servants.

Not mentioned about this unethical study is "why Guinea-Bissau"? The trial is not to test efficacy - we already know it's effective - it's to test non-specific effects. There is *zero* grounds to do that in a country with high risk of HepB - if UoSD is hell-bent on doing a study, do it in Denmark.
The Danish government and the EU should be looking into this and into Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark, which has condoned this so-called research. 1/ www.theguardian.com/society/2026...

This is not "a controversial vaccine trial," it's biological warfare, conducted by European researchers on African infants. It's imperialism, racism, eugenics, and the hubris of incredibly stupid people. It's denying vaccines to newborns! In what fuckin universe is this a "vaccine trial"?

Requiring scientists to be political neutral is to require scientists to shut up when the facts are inconvenient.
Knowledge is NOT politically neutral. The scientific method is a tool for deriving knowledge. So why then, are we telling the arbiters of the scientific method and developers of knowledge to be politically neutral? Are scientists supposed to forsake knowledge for politics sake?

The real “brain drain” is not the handful of high-profile scientists taking a top position abroad. It's the international scholars who have to leave the US halfway through their postdoc, or the international students who never apply for grad school in the US because of visa policies

What do we want? Diarrhea!!! (Apparently) When do we want it? Forever!!!
The Trump administration has carefully selected right now as the appropriate time to cut cyclospora research. “We’re basically not allowed to continue any research on that beyond trying to preserve the samples that we already have from previous outbreaks”.

It's not just tumbling enrollment. Graduate programs rely on foreign students to sustain *critical mass.* Many (if not most) would collapse after a sudden 30% drop in enrollment. They think they're creating space for white, U.S.-born students, but they're actually destroying their own schools.
An administrator on the flagship campus offered that estimate as part of a federal lawsuit, filed this month, against a new four-year limit on student visas. https://chroni.cl/4wMDqgw

regular reminder that most of the millions of projected deaths from USAID's destruction HAVE NOT HAPPENED YET—which means they can still be prevented. but this is only possible if we demand that democrats prioritize it once in power. it is a moral imperative that we actually act on these numbers
Not to be some wild-eyed innocent, but I think it should be slightly bigger news that The Lancet have crunched the numbers and found that Musk's USAID cuts will kill 14 million people. And that's just by 2030. That's 9,600 people a day, every day, until the next world cup rolls around.
