JUST POSTED: Today at The NYT we are publishing a major investigation into how President Trump used his executive powers to expose millions of Americans to greater cancer risks.
A six month-long investigation built on more than 10,000 pages of FOIA records. Read it

This is the dodgiest and most-desperate thing I’ve seen in the bubble so far. Amazon selling their chips to a group of investors and leasing them back - an off balance sheet arrangement done in plain sight. Really scraping the bottom of the barrel here. And they’ll probably buy more!
Sources: Amazon has held talks with investors about a deal to spin off $8B of Grace Blackwell chips into an SPV, then lease them back for its US data centers (Financial Times)

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor.
This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why.
Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.
Sen. Susan Collins helped steer millions in federal defense contracts to Navatek, whose CEO illegally funneled thousands of dollars to her campaign.
The FBI sought to launch a probe and was eyeing Collins and other lawmakers.
Then Trump gutted the unit in charge. THREAD 🧵
Five corporations control 90% of the US media.
Airlines have merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today.
A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry.
Four giants control 80% of meat processing.
The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.
With 45 days until the midterms, I urge you all to:
1) Help get out the vote.
2) Protect our electoral machinery from interference.
3) Not succumb to complacency, defeatism, or cynicism.
We are the only ones who can end this nightmare.
We are the leaders we’ve been waiting for.
NEW: A nonprofit tied to RFK Jr. solicited payments from companies in exchange for access to top HHS officials, according to Bloomberg.
The top tier: $300,000 for a speaking slot and a private dinner with Kennedy and Dr. Oz.
Remember: Telling lies that everyone knows are lies is a classic tactic of dictators to force their followers to side with them over the truth itself.
But the public will not be gaslit. We will continue to spread the truth to our communities.
Ignorance is the handmaiden of tyranny.
i have had multiple "oh you haven't heard about cumming in the fluffer?" conversations in the past few weeks which is not great for myself or for others
NEW: We spent months investigating a little-known media startup called Brown Brothers Media, which buys legit news sites and turns them into AI-powered zombie content farms
What blew my mind was its traffic -- it appears to be getting more readers than NPR or CBS News

For my newsletter, I wrote about how we shouldn't ignore that a billionaire trying to build data centers is putting a hundred million into Republican anti-trans ads in these midterms. www.burnsnotice.com/the-data-cen...
Free newsletter: The idea that we're nearing the creation of AI systems that we can't control and that pose an existential threat to humanity is a lie and a distraction from the tangible harms and problems caused by LLMs and AI labs' near-unlimited resources.

‘The problem that they face is that they made a bet, the bet hasn’t worked, the open source guys are eating their lunch, they’ve just had a disastrous PR cycle with data centers and HuggingFace, and the markets don’t want to give them more money.’ www.cnbc.com/video/2026/0...
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." -Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1953
ICE is arresting a record number of pregnant women and teenagers, according to government documents obtained by the Guardian.
At the same time, the agency appears to have lost count of how many suffered a miscarriage. 🧵
NEW: Our analysis found that from 2020 to 2025, the rate of deaths involving ectopic pregnancies nearly doubled compared with the previous six-year period.
The uptick was steeper in states with abortion bans.
It would be nice if someone could explain this community note to him. Having a president with a basic understanding of how trade works doesn’t seem like a ton to ask.
Meanwhile our farmers are getting crushed.
Remember the Epstein Files?
So far, only about half the files have been released — and a potential cover-up by the Trump regime continues to generate bipartisan political action. Here's what you should know.

They’ll keep telling us it’s inevitable but NYC and other large school systems are starting to say no to AI, recognizing it’s not a legitimate tool for k-12 learning. Even some universities are putting their foot down, like U Chicago (and some law schools) www.nyc.gov/mayors-offic...
Tesla's defective self-driving software will still illegally blow past a stopped school bus and run down a child crossing the road!
We warned Tesla of this danger 4 years ago and the safety defect hasn't been fixed in FSD v14 Lite.
Why is this product allowed on public roads?
Tesla's marketing of its not-really-self-driving systems to the elderly, disabled, and DUI-prone would be a major scandal if our society were one in which scandal were still possible
Tesla's deceptive marketing is convincing seniors that "Full-Self Driving" can safely operate their car even if they aren't capable of doing so.
This is incredibly dangerous—not just for elderly Tesla owners but for anyone sharing the road with them.

“We are looking at [...] do we change the general shape,” Rick Smith, Axon’s CEO, replied. @josephcox.bsky.social story: www.404media.co/cops-are-ask...

Make no mistake—this is Mike Rogers' position on data centers. He's got up to $2.6 million invested in companies cashing in on the data center boom, all while Michiganders watch their utility bills soar.
US media: Why in the world are people voting for democratic socialists?
Financial Times: “US corporate profits have hit a record high while workers’ slice of the pie has sunk to historic lows.”
I remember when polio put my friends into iron lungs.
We lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives.
Now, two unvaccinated people have died from measles.
What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.
NEW: After U.S. missile strikes killed hundreds of civilians in Iran and Yemen, the Defense Department is poised to reinstate a program meant to reduce civilian harm during military operations. Pete Hegseth gutted it over the objections of top commanders.
Amazon continues to bully sellers on its platform through exorbitant fees and exploitative practices.
A federal lawsuit filed by Biden's FTC, which could hold Amazon accountable, heads to trial soon — unless Trump's FTC decides to settle.
Is it any wonder why Bezos has been buttering up Donald?
Amazon 3rd-party sellers are being further squeezed. Half of every sale goes to Amazon.
New abuses include:
•Getting paid on a seven-day delay so Amazon can profit from their cash flow
•Charging for advertising out of those delayed payments
They can't escape because Amazon dominates e-commerce.
I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.
"ICE tactics, already sadistic, are looking increasingly like torture," writes @judith-levine.bsky.social.
"The slim avenues to legal recourse and the refusal of transparency or accountability by the perpetrators of de jure and de facto torture are driving detainees to desperate measures..."
