I only have my own lived an experience as a survivor (1 in 4 women and men too) but after the Epstein files, #Cornell7 and smearing Acton my nerves are shot. Moving through life among 80 million people that voted for this man, support and say similar things about victims is terrifying.

Trump: "This is a disgrace. The mother said that Amy Acton is a liar and she's no good. And you know what? I don't think you can get a better reference than that."

A couple days ago, the cart boy in the parking lot startled me so much I screeched bc I was looking through my purse and not watching my surroundings. I felt bad and apologized to the young man who was really kind and understanding.

In 2005, Time Magazine did a cover story on “The Battle Over Gay Teens.” It’s the same handwringing we see now from “concerned” adults on behalf of young people. “Kids are disclosing their homosexuality with unprecedented regularity–and they are doing so much younger.” time.com/archive/6596...

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

this is happening because big tech customer support basically doesn't exist and desperate people are asking ChatGPT what to do. ChatGPT is sending them to journalists

In the last few weeks i've been bombarded with emails from people who have minor tech support problems. ChatGPT is telling them to email me, writing their emails, and compiling "evidence packets" after convincing them they have stumbled on a major story: www.404media.co/chatgpt-keep...

The former presideny compares the current president to a murderous dictator & the "discourse" focuses on the Cheesecake Factory. Perfect summation of our failed state, no notes.

Oh it's a *discourse* discourse

I’m living next to a military installation most tenants are contractors, members and veterans. We chit chat when they smoke and I walk my dogs. The genetically engineered dogs in combat gear spread same day with disgust since they already have machine dogs.

A naval officer I talked to months ago was worried about the autonomous warfare & kill chains w/o humans making devisions. They didn’t offer up these opinions I usually ask questions or make statements. He had retired after 20 yrs then come back on and said it’s the worst decision he ever made

I was referring to my ex’s SF group by name

I let myself check Reddit once or twice a week and started regularly checking the military subs since the start of the Iran war. This does not surprise me. The posts are depressing but make me hopeful.

marine corps boards crossing out their instructions "expel trans marines" and writing in "we keep this trans marine" is, frankly, a great example of what it means that a society is more than just its government

Reporters reserve undermining labels like "controversial" for things like wildly popular bike lanes that they hate. For wildly unpopular things that they admire, they apply labels evoking strength and efficiency like "ruthless" 🤔

mtsw@mtsw.bsky.social

which adjectives reporters use to characterize stuff like this makes a big difference in how the public perceives the story. "Ruthless" is an odd choice given the reality of the story

Thread 🧵: the fraudulent transgender mailers have a connection back to Dallas, Texas, where a local Republican megadonor used a similar playbook years ago when he funded a fake BLM group to send letters to wealthy white parents that were designed to discredit the BLM movement.

CBS identified Illinois based Three Z Printing as the holder of the permit associated with the fake transgender mailers. One of the owners, Matt Zerrusen, is based in Dallas. His Instagram shows pictures with Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump, and comments from local Republicans.
