My book, Hiding on Thin Ice, comes out November 13. It’s a memoir of my experience as an undiagnosed autistic woman working in the hockey media industry. I wrote it out of both hope and anger. Hope that things would get better for autistic girls/women. Anger at systems of injustice.

If you’re looking to enjoy *anything* where there are no abusers or men doing bad things, good luck finding it. The minority of bad actors won’t prevent me from working in a sport I love, or drawing attention to its problems.

One of my first memories is listening to “Our Song” on MP3, and being so amazed that I played it over and over and over again. I lost my aunt’s MP3 privileges after that. (The joys of being an undiagnosed autistic child!) But, I dressed up as “Our Song” MV Taylor for my Eras show. (Atlanta, 04/29)

Also, neurodivergent people are at higher risk for addiction, eating disorders, and suicide; and are overrepresented in psych wards and jails. It’s one of the many reasons why the infighting makes me batty. I promise you, there are bigger problems in the ND world that need your attention.
