Trans rights, ending ICE, and freeing Palestine all got huge cheers at my local No Kings protest. These are mainstream positions for the Democratic electorate. The party needs to fucking catch up.

I want to be clear about what happened today: While Republicans keep the Senate in session to try and pass their dangerous SAVE act, they also tried to push through a ridiculous ban on transgender athletes. We blocked it.

1. My newest Anti-Trans Legal Risk Map is here. For trans adults, Kansas is the newest "Do Not Travel" warning, only the 3rd state to achieve that warning. For youth, a change to the map increases risk to Medium in many states. Nationwide risk remains extreme. Subscribe to support my journalism.

I was just denied entry to the Dilley detention facility while my constituent, seven-year-old Diana, remains inside. What kind of sick, horrific conditions are children being forced to endure in there? I will be back tomorrow. Accountability can’t wait.

Finally got a new passport…with the wrong gender marker, despite applying with the attestation form and my name/gender change court order (which was even requested during the process). I’m so pissed. This was mailed as an explanation along with my old expired passport:

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality. And trans lives are grounded in reality. We see y'all. No matter what. www.popsci.com/science/tran...

popsci.comFirst-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transitionNinety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.

“There's no governor that's done more pro trans legislation than I have, and no one has been a stronger advocate for the LGBTQ community," - Gavin Newsom to Ezra Klein, of all people I’m not even sure irony is the right word here but whatever it is, it’s strong. 😂 Can we send them both to Mars?

This Trans Day of Remembrance, my heart hurts thinking of all the people we couldn't carry through to the other side of this moment in history. Amidst all the fighting we've done for our community, amidst the unshakeable belief that we will win in the end, grief still takes hold.
