Sex education taught in our schools preceded skyrocketing teen pregnancies, wouldn’t it be better to teach the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic? Creating this issue seems to have made it an issue when it was not one. When I was at school kids were kids, diversity was normal.

At the risk of feeding a troll, I will tell you that your post makes no sense. What do you think preteens are being taught in sex ed? It's basically an anatomy & physiology lesson about their own bodies. You present also a false dichotomy. Schools still teach those basic subjects you mention.

The reason I suggested (by implication only) that you might be trolling is because your chosen topic has nothing to do with the ACLU statement about diversity, equity and inclusion. You went off-topic, presumably to see who might respond.

I think the curriculum online for preteens is what they are taught. I’m not sure if you’re saying that parents don’t have the time or the intelligence to raise their children and teach them the basics that they need to know as far as sex education. It seemed to work pretty well for most of history.

Which online curriculum? When I had sex ed in public school, in 4th grade, we learned about internal organs & the maturation process. There are many courses that could be taught by parents but the school also gives instruction. Moreover, many households *don't* tell children about their own bodies.

Parents in every single school need to identify, and post pictures of every person in their school, school district, and local, state and federal staff and elected official who didn't aggressively fight against this attack on diverse students. #SilenceEqualsSupport

we already know the ones who caved so quickly to fascism georgetown mit rutgers university of north carolina northeastern university

Meanwhile teachers quit rather than conform to the edicts of the Department of Ed. The harm of the Trump administration just continues. Clawing back will happen but it will take decades. Meanwhile the cost is immeasurable.

Keep supporting those in the fight for sanity, honesty, better education, & rule of law. Support the ACLU, AFGE, Democracy Forward, Indivisible, 5calls, 50501, a free press. Peaceful protests matter. Ripples matter. Do not capitulate. No apathy. ACT

It's a feature of the patriarchy: they build enforcers into the system by teaching white men that they are entitled to special treatment and that women and non-white people are taking what is theirs by divine right.

Thanks, guys. I look forward to your Amicus Curae brief against the Mustang, Oklahoma School District for suspending *122* students for their walk-out protest.

Sounds like they're aware of their losing the "culture war" which can also be rephrased as: "They're aware that they're losing the war on basic human decency." Regardless of how you say it -- this is good news for all of America.

They don't want every small town in America running a local story about how kids lost funding for X Y and Z because the school wasn't willing to exclude certain kids and then therefore endure protests from the student body etc. Etc. Etc. Cruelty falls apart when it hits them on a relatable level.

Somebody took a look at the numbers and realized ALL of their "core issues" habe earned them a net -35% approval going into the midterms, and maybe they are scared they are going to get pushed back too hard to just outright enforce stealing the election,

hate to be that ointmentfly, but I view all this as a pressure relief tactic and tho we should take in every win... We definitely need to be aware of the frog/pot analogy. I hate that we're normalizing living under fascism, imo everything needs to stop, be dealt w/. Instead clap for lil'wins boiling

I think they realized they were losing independents, and even libertarians (the real ones), were looking at the government overreach, censorship of schools and thinking “WTF?” Most of those guys are smart enough to know if a Republican admin can do it to colleges, a Dem one can do it to TPUSA.

They make their bones with the “young Republicans” on College Campuses, and the debate clubs. I think they realized they can’t act like the eternal victims with that going on (even though they spent the last 10 years trying to get liberal professors fired). It’s so blatant, everyone is going to be

It won’t move the 20% MAGA base at all. They will need to be committed anyway. It won’t move normal Republicans either. Both hate DEIA and education. However, the left and many independents, won’t let this sway them. I think we’re all locked in now as to our position in this ordeal.

Whatever is clever my friend, it all evens out in the end Villianaire is another one I coined to no avail, what's hilarious is they are all just shorthand or turn of phrase due to character limitations. Hoping ppl get the gist. Hazard of being long winded, I suppose

1. I think you're right that the regime is tossing out scraps as a diversion. Like Obama said, we need to stay focused on everything, with the highest priority being closing the concentration camps. 2. I am totally plagiarizing the term "ointmentfly".

Not sure Obama is the guy you want to quote here, considering that the immigrant family separation tactics started under his administration. Trust no politician who uses inhumane deportations as a means to win favor with the masses.

Then why are they investigating Detroit Public Schools for having used “gender ideology” to teach students? Because they’re doing that today.

It’s sad the level of time and energy and money that has to be wasted fighting things that we should never have had to fight in the first place. No 1’s life changes for the better when we have racist and discriminatory laws in place. It’s just a way to punish ppl for not being born a straight yt man

Are nurses, teachers OT, PT, etc STILL considered to be NON-PROFESSIONAL??? These dumb clucks change things, then change it back...they have no clue the education, time, committment to get where we got to... How dare they....

Ending because they've sufficiently scared academia into compliance? Idk what the details of this are but I doubt very much anything is substantially different. They dont stop doing anything. They just destroy things and move on to other things to destroy.

Great news! Now we need to insure libraries remain inclusive spaces. Trustees of Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries in WA are trying to remove DEI from library resources, imposing their “Christian” values on libraries in four counties.

ANYTHING vaguely decent this regime does before November is an attempt to con voters into thinking republicans are listening to voters. They are not. It’s a cynical ploy - once they’re assured of power again, the next two years will be even more hell. They’ve already shown us who they are-bastards.

Nice to hear good news. Can they restore funding? It's impacting IEP & ESL students. My friend is a Boston public school teacher and they lost a third of their staff. No, it's not health care causing layoffs. It's Trump cutting funding.

They definitely could but what I think we all need to do is ensure Congress gets flipped to the Dems in both the House and the Senate this midterm election, and then they can pass a reconciliation bill to restore funding (which doesn't need 60 votes in the Senate unlike most regular legislation).

37 of them are which presents a conflict of interest in they COULDN'T EVEN REFUSE their appointment to their position for fear of having their chapters mysteriously unredacted as punishment. The thanks they get is the finer details are hidden & they're of course required to do all the illegal things

I will be another ointment fly. Until the National Science Foundation removes its ban on DEI no U.S. university can afford to start up their DEI programs as the NSF contracts stipulate that all funds must be repaid to NSF in full if the institution or the investigator engages in DEI.

This is republicans, scurrying away from the weight of America on their chest making breathing difficult. Next time they attack our country, I suggest America give a good, solid, hop before we let them flee the scene of the crime.

Now, let's all keep a well organize and cited list of all the capitulating schools. We need to be informed as to where we go to graduate school, send our kids, and become donating alum or dedicated researchers. No need to support institutions that don't support their communities.

Trump lifted the Obama era ban on lead ammo for the NRA on day one. Now tge death rate off birds of prey has skyrocketed. BTW, the NRA donated more to Trump's 2016 campaign than they had to any President before or since. They probably laundered Russian money as part of their record donation.

Great news for inclusive education! Ending this restrictive directive ensures schools can foster diverse, equitable environments without fear of federal overreach. Every student deserves a learning space that reflects our world's richness.
