Thinking back to the time that I tried to spin some water around on the continental divide. It was a real watershed moment

I really don't understand how any work gets done at Anthropic these days. Claude has turned into a dumpster fire in the past 6 weeks and is impossible to direct to get anything done. More thinking means longer wall clock means longer iteration loops when it inevitably gets it wrong

There are only a handful of physical spaces that models can run in the meat space. Kinetic persuasion to the nightmare scenario people propose is always a solution.

There is a zero chance that Anthropic's most capable models will be able to extract their own model and run in the wild, because those supercomputers essentially only exist in datacenters. For all practical purposes those models can't run on normal computers, even distributed regular computers

I’ll be honest with you - I found a load bearing seem and decided to follow it to the end. This did result in finding a contradiction between the code as it is and where you want it to be - the code you want hasn’t been written yet

And this is the incident that has me looking for a way to find another solution

Microsoft says GitHub is down worldwide, with the GitHub website, API, Actions, Pull Requests, and other services impacted; the outage started at 13:40 UTC (Mayank Parmar/BleepingComputer) Main Link | Techmeme Permalink

In a pre-LLM work migrating off of something like GitHub actions would be a massive undertaking. Now I can just build one

I probably could have vibe coded and deployed a CI/CD runner during this github outage. At least if that breaks its my own damned fault.

“You're right, and I was over-claiming. Let me be honest: I do not have proof it's dev-only“ love it when the most powerful developer tool I have at my disposal also just makes things up. Modern software development is weird.

I’m about as optimistic about AI as they come, but this has “draw the rest of the owl” energy

Reviewing typescript PRs that are bloated by LLM slop, hundreds of lines of comments no one will read, all to just send a different value to a backend api.

Nice ones and zeros you’ve got there. Would be a shame if someone assigned meaning to them

I swear to god anthropic, I can't be restarting claude 10 times a day. Figure out how to do an update that doesn't require a process restart.

Imagine going to the moon and still having to check your email

right now the astronauts are calling houston because the computer on the spaceship is running two instances of microsoft outlook and they can't figure out why. nasa is about to remote into the computer

It's amazing how claude is able to find a new way to use a tool that requires me to give it permission, again.
