.NET has released an out of band security update to address the vulnerability in the Google Brotli library. This is the same library NPM and others use. .NET and ASP.NET Core do not use Brotli by default, you have to opt-in. Details on what to look for in your code are in the advisory.

@flashes.blue why are you asking for so many permissions? @bsky.app can the permissions be more granular, and allow me to uncheck things I don't want in permissions screen? E.g. there's no reason for me to grant permission to update my email, or read and send messages.

The php vuln finally got me to migrate an old site off of wordpress. Doing it manually would have taken all day - claude did it in 10 minutes.

Is there a github setting to turn off "allow merge commits" for all new repositories? Every time I create a repo I have to go to settings and uncheck that. Would be nice if I could set a default.
