Bluesky would be a shitshow solely on the "is FDR disabled" issue. BlueAnons insisting they support disabled rights but surely no one frail could lead, Communists flip flopping because Stalin does, arguing about medical ethics vs. c'mon look at him, Will Stancil would be involved somehow.
I guess it's just turbo ableism? but even then how do you land on helen keller? why not be a FDR wheelchair denier?

Boss makes a dollar, you make a dime Only do discourse on company time
Not trying to air any particular person out here, but a generally good way to find someone who’s doing social media better is someone who doesn’t spend their precious weekends arguing about the N*w Y*rk T*m*s. This is the time for recreation, argue about those nerds during the work week.

What I love about Amtrak is that it is 70 per cent of the way to being the world’s greatest railway, but the remaining 30 per cent is geared towards working against it.
I like that the smallest unit of wine you can buy on an Amtrak train appears to be a half bottle, really tells its own story wrt how long they're expecting to keep you in your seat for

Extremely funny to go "I can't believe the Poles didn't insitute reforms that would have upset Moscow" with a header image of What Happens When You Upset Moscow
In October 1956, a protest movement in Poland brought a reform-minded communist leadership to power. Unlike Hungary, Poland managed to avoid Soviet intervention, but the opportunity to democratize its political and economic structures was missed.

I was told we'd never catch up to Mexico of we don't have pro/rel
Has gone under the radar, but Liga MX stating in their latest league rules for the 2026-27 season that pro/rel will not return "...clubs comprising Liga MX will not be relegated to Expansion MX, and likewise, Expansion MX clubs will not be promoted to Liga MX" cldrsrcs.apilmx.com/v1/docs/Regl...

My dad once told me, without a hint of irony, that the Miami Dolphins are never bad for long.
“We’re getting into territory where you’re thinking ‘we’ve got a chance to beat the Cowboys” Cris, you melon-brained dunce, SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEATEN THE COWBOYS, including themselves. This is not an accomplishment, unless you celebrate after tying your shoes.
Utterly unrelated but is disambiguation a word or did Wikipedia just make it up when they needed a page to de-ambiguousify pages.
Literature: Naguib Mahfouz, Nobel (1988) but tbh if you think "the Arabic world has never written any literature" then congrats on surviving that brain amoeba, sorry it ate so much of your brain, here's the DISAMBIGUATION PAGE on Arabic literature to get up to speed: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categor...

Oldest City in the United States? San Juan. Oldest Church in the United States? San Juan. First School in the United States? San Juan. First Inter-European violence? All of PR BUT San Juan got sacked. First witch-hunt? What, did you think it would be the Puritans? Get San Juan-ed idiot.
Almost every "Oldest X in the United States" is a fun trick question because invariably the answer turns out to be in San Juan.
Imo the biggest loss of the universal DH was losing a key chance to shit on the Junior Circuit.
every fan of an AL team should be experiencing secondhand shame that this is the best team their league produced. you should all feel like Lord Toranaga when Tadayoshi spoke out of turn at the Council of Regents

I keep reading this framing that Israeli citizens are required to be in Israel physically to cast their vote, and it misses something significant: Israeli citizens in the occupied West Bank are not, in fact, required to be in Israel to vote. Absentee voting for some, but not others.
Absentee voting is not an option for Israelis: they are required to cast their vote in person in their home country. And so Erella Grassiani, an Israeli-Dutch lecturer at the UvA, boarded a flight to Israel to vote in Tuesday’s elections. www.folia.nl/en/actueel/1...
