And Seattle now has the 5th highest per capita transit ridership! Mygod what a transformation over the 35 years I’ve lived here.

Calling the Bay Area “highly car-dependent,” as this and other articles do www.motherjones.com/politics/202... is funny because the SF urban area has the 2nd highest per capita transit ridership among big urban areas in the nation (San Jose is #20/48) www.thetransportpolitic.com/databook/us-...

Seattle's light rail ridership growth really has been meteoric.

For #weekwithoutdriving, we're spotlighting Seattleites who get around without a car and asking what more frequent bus service would mean to them. You may know the Transit Fairy from cleaning up bus stops across the city and keeping our transit beautiful. 🧚

Sound Transit planned a "small" celebration today for Pinehurst but once again underestimated how much people in Seattle LOVE TRANSIT. This place is packed.

Excited to be heading to Tacoma tonight for the Keep Pierce Moving campaign kickoff, supporting Proposition 1! This is the year we're going to get South Sound closer to the level of transit service it deserves, I can feel it.

Everett Transit & Community Transit are better together. This would deliver a lot more bus service to the people of Everett, rather than cuts. Excited to rally for it with @snotrac.bsky.social

At Community Transit HQ this morning, where CEO Ric Ilgenfritz is joining Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin in presenting a joint agreement that would result in Everett Transit's annexation into the larger agency. That move would be poised to result in a major expansion of bus service within the city.

This merger between agencies seems like a big improvement for riders in the suburbs north of Seattle, both in terms of improving service but also increasing legibility. Right now, Everett Transit and Community Transit have multiple overlapping routes.
