"Do you want a good government or a country that's in ruins?"
This interview was too good not to share in its entirety. So meet Grant, a 15-year-old student from Princeton, New Jersey, who spoke to our reporter at the #HandsOff rally there.
He has some thoughts.
Hands Off! Cranston Neighbors, please meet us on Sat. April 5th @ 11:45 on the corner of Hope & Alumni streets, across from Hope HS in PVD. This march will end at Burnside park.
Our freedom and liberties are not for sale. Please join us in sending a clear message to the Trump admin.
"Musk's influence largely has stemmed from his wealth. A third of his $300 billion in net worth is directly from Tesla stock. Tesla...is uniquely vulnerable to a widespread boycott of its products." - @victoriascott.bsky.social#teslatakedowninsideevs.com/features/755...
People need to be crystal clear about something: The requirement that the government ANSWER to a court on the legal basis for detaining someone is literally the core liberty right (habeas corpus). If the government says they don’t have to do that bc “national security,” YOU can be disappeared.
As the Trump Administration treats our colleagues in government with utter disdain and targets law firms for taking on cases and clients they don’t like, the mission for all ethical lawyers is clear: stand up and speak out. @contrariannews.orglnkd.in/eZau9G-iopen.substack.com/pub/contrari...
Really wish people would stop talking about the problem with Science under Trump as “budget cuts”.
No. Budgets are set deliberatively by elected members of congress. Budgets haven’t been cut.
What’s happening are *purges* and *censorship*.
Trump wants Kash Patel to run the FBI for one reason: total control. Patel colluded to block investigations, spread election lies, and glorify January 6. Patel won’t uphold the law—he’ll sabotage it to protect Trump and target his enemies with a revenge agenda. I voted “No.”
i see people comparing this to the way trans youth healthcare was the canary in the coal mine for attacking all trans people, and i talk about this in the piece 🩷
New from me —
“What it comes down to is the removal of choice, especially when it comes to established health care. People should not have to suffer the anguish of being denied life-saving drugs because a couple of guys have decided to apply conspiracy theories instead of established science.”
We’ve heard plenty about what Trump, Musk and their marauding henchmen want to destroy. But have you heard anything about what they want to build or in any way make lives better?
@profgalloway.com please stop lecturing “Democrats” about what to do and do something yourself! You don’t get it yet. The electeds cannot save us. All of us—you included—need to put ourselves in the streets. Ketamine parties are the ultimate privilege.
🚨 My colleagues and I were just denied entry to USAID HQ on the orders of President Trump and Elon Musk.
Shutting down USAID is unlawful, inhumane, and a gift to adversaries like Russia and China.
I will not stop fighting to protect American national security interests.
If Republicans had any guts, they would be joining the entire democratic congressional caucus in filing articles of impeachment against Trump & Vance right now. And red-state voters should be massing outside the offices of their reps to demand it.
In Rhode Island, as elsewhere, the local news crisis is being solved one community at a time. @phileil.bsky.social reports for Rhode Island Monthly (I'm quoted):
The mainstream media may not discuss it, but here's the fact:
Three people —Musk, Bezos & Zuckerberg — now own more wealth than the bottom half of American society.
A handful of corporations control what is produced & the prices we pay.
Capitalism is broken.
Tomorrow, Donald Trump will be sentenced as a felon. Tomorrow the whining stops, the stalling becomes impossible, and the hammer of justice comes down on our unfit president-elect.
The combined net worth of America's twelve wealthiest people passed $2 trillion last year.
12 people. $2 trillion.
Meanwhile, U.S. homelessness increased 18% in 2024.
Our problem isn’t an issue of resources.
Our problem is ever-expanding wealth inequality.
As Trump sides with Musk (who gets billions in government subsidies) Laura Loomer continues to make an uncomfortable amount of sense about the implications👇🏽🫤
