One day after the Supreme Court lifted the ban on racial profiling, federal agents swarmed a car in Van Nuys. Four masked agents with guns drawn yanked people out, slammed them to the ground, and pointed a weapon at a pregnant woman. There is no justification for this. None.

The government has declared that Head Start is not basic education as required under Plyler v. Doe and is therefore a "welfare program" barred by the 1996 Clinton welfare reform bill, despite the government having since 1998 taken a completely different position on what the law means.

The idea that ICE is in LA to protect citizens from dangerous immigrants is clearly not the case when the community is pushing back. Who are they protecting? Or to be more precise, what are they protecting?

I am not sure if I am more horrified by the lawlessness of this action or threat it encompasses. We need the men and women of our military, who know they serve our country not some dictator or his lackeys, to stand up and refuse unlawful orders. Only that will stop this terrifying trajectory.
