Enjoyed seeing this woman's work. Sustainability isn't just about producer decisions, but also consumer decisions, namely their willingness to repair things when needed. This type of repair is easier on natural fibers, rather than stretch fabrics. Consider that when shoppping. IG loosethreadsrepair

I feel like when people talk about the superiority of man made art over AI slop they tend to focus too much on the mystic of it and not enough on the fact that for a lot of artists the process is made up of a long series of complex and meaningful deecisions that a robot sucks at making.

Talking about how historical inspirations for fictional settings 🧵 I was shared an artist's post about a design they created claiming to be inspired by a specific bit of history, that ended up not at all showing through in the final picture. This is not uncommon.

this might mean moving on a bit from my usual focus on RT fanart and instead actually start trying to make art work as, well, work doesnt mean ill just stop but i will try to branch out a bit, maybe get more people to share what i do, and hopefully translate that into more commission work

it also means that from november on ill actually have a set pricing list and categories for commission work, and also that the prices ive charged for what ive done until now will go up a bit to be closer other artists rates, because while i still feel far from truly being professional, ive reached

I'd never seen this Roy Lichtenstein painting before, but it's incredible how he manages unfailingly to make his copies worse than the original comics he's ripping off.

Full of people high on their own flatulence & they’ll never admit that they’ve been bamboozled so this shit gets to make millions while the guys he stole from died in poverty. In case you didn’t know, I have *feelings* about Lichtenstein…

Warhol, at least, changed the media of the items he presented. He drew, then screenprinted his soup cans, for instance. Lichtenstein took a drawing and just made a bigger (& worse executed) version. He’s a hack and his “work” should be considered a cautionary tale, but the world of “fine art” is

That’s bc he was a hack piece of shit. Like I can see the argument for when people talk about Warhol and his “recontextualizing” of existing things, like soup cans or Elvis, but Lichtenstein was a thief. He wasn’t “recontextualizing” shit. He took an existing drawing and made it big. Hack. Shit.

>take a commission for designing an oc thats meant to be based in belgium >consider looking at ww1 era events (amongst other things) to try to inform the character design >go to wikipedia to check "belgium in world war 1" >second section is literally called "r*** of belgium"
