Update: WE ARE BACK IN! We can post again. This was utter bullshit on the biggest early vote effort in history. But it will not stop what we're building. No Kings means no kings in the White House or in Silicon Valley.

Update: about 4 hours later and we still don't have admin access so we still can't post to the No Kings instagram account. This isn't slowing down the the 3,000+ early vote events today. We will drive the biggest early vote in history. But this should be a flashing alarm about what's to come.

if we’re still pretending that Mitch McConnell is alive then we should be able to criticize him for his silence on the anniversary of 9/11

Trump: "Please right your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States. That loves us so much he can't even breath. That I will go out with my family, my friends, I'll do it any way - I don't care if I'm registered or not, I'm going to try to cheat like hell..."

Bluesky should go back to invites, continue aggressive bot bans, create a Craigslist-style marketplace (since you’re more likely to buy/get services from a educated or good person on here than any other social network), and market this place like a walled garden protected from enshittification.

Apple workers could have gotten $4 MILLION each over 8 years. Instead, Apple spent $650 BILLION on stock buybacks. Shareholders got rich. Workers got nothing. This isn't investment. It's theft. Tax the rich.

We really shouldn't stop with Paramount and WB. Disney shouldn't be able to own ABC, ESPN, AND Hulu. All of these conglomerates need to be broken up.

The most sober, terrifying thing I can say as a Trump presidential historian is that what happened tonight was not about you, me, or America. He's going to do what he's going to do based on how he convinces *himself* to do it. Nothing else matters. He's not listening to anyone.

The challenges we now face must be met by a bold progressive populist movement that strengthens democracy and shakes up the system. We can’t simply return to the path we were on before Trump. We cannot accept the status quo of Big Money dominating our politics and economy.

He's not planning on leaving. That's what the ballroom bunker equipped with drones is for. It's why he's calling for Thune to fire the parliamentarian who's refusing to allow the $1B for the ballroom in the reconciliation bill. It's why he's paying the insurrectionists with his slush fund.

Trump's commencement message to Coast Guard cadets: "I'm gonna be here in '28. Maybe I'll be here in '32 too. I don't know. Maybe I will."

If politicians actually cared about protecting children or their constituents they'd nationalize (or at least regulate) social media companies. Instead they allow big tech to operate without oversight in exchange for ID laws that harvest even more data from users. It's why big tech is pushing it

We can speculate all day about the potential perils of shutting down the government vs. give Trump/Elon a blank check CR to decimate it all, including our social security and Medicaid. It's a simpler choice. We can either go down fighting on our feet or compliant on our knees. I want the fight.

laggerific.bsky.social reposted

it doesn't matter if the CR was bad or anywhere near good; as long as lawlessnes reigns supreme in Washington you don't vote for a single GOP bill or a single GOP nominee, why is this so fuckin' hard to understand

no party is responsible for raising other ppl kids. the right cant preach “parents rights” & then blame society b/c their kids turned out terrible. lots of young adults (incl women) have shitty ideas at that age. you get a clue when you become an adult & take responsibility for those shortcomings

I'm not sure why we are pretending this has anything to do with "DEI" anymore. There is a systematic effort to purge any acknowledgement that race or racism or gender or misogyny EXIST

Trump WANTS a recession Billionaires pay for politicians, SCOTUS seats, lobbyists etc. Ask yourself why billionaires want you to believe the government is more corrupt than the billionaires who pay for it? Billionaires chomping at the bit to buy your house in a recession. Pay attention.

Elon Musk called Social Security a "ponzi scheme." This is absolute rubbish. Social Security has paid every benefit owed to every eligible American for 85 years. Perhaps the bigger "ponzi scheme" is the $38 billion spent by taxpayers to prop up his corporations?
