earlier this month I committed to doing a minicomic challenge of 4-8 pages; about a week ago I finished roughs for 19 pages (with intent to insert 1 more page for clarity + achieve a round 20); it's about DOG NUNS wish me luck with lining + coloring(?) it in time for halloween posting 🎃

Public Domain Art is the lifeblood of small tabletop rpgs, but it can be a nightmare trying to find the right art and license. This week, I’ve re-uploaded my old list from 2020 (with updates) of public domain websites. That's 500,000+ public domain paintings, photos, maps, and film. Link below 🔗👇

In an achievement that is probably only exciting to me, for the first time in my entire life I just managed to clear an Expert level Minesweeper board without clearing any of the bombs

(This is particularly notable because back in my school days I became so fixated on playing Minesweeper to unwind that it became kind of a joke, and even back then I never got my head into the right mode to successfully clear the game that way... Not sure what finally shifted after so many years!)

I hated the show Caillou as a kid, but my sister liked it. The one and only day that I decided to be gracious and let her know that Caillou was about to start was September 11th, 2001, and if you can believe it, they weren't showing Caillou that morning.

I started with con crud, took an antibiotic. Never got any better. It's clearly viral, now, not RSV, COVID or flu, but I can barely lift my head. People please, I beg of you, mask in large crowds. It's a pain, but this has robbed me of two full weeks of my life so far.

Nothing to shame you out of afternoon procrastination faster than a three-year-old marching into your office, looking at your computer screen, and demanding, "WHY ARE YOU PLAYING A GAME?!"

“In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.” imaginationlibrary.com My little nephew, also a recipient of books through this program, has treasured all of the titles shown below, and I hope that many more children can continue to benefit 💖

This is why Dolly Parton will be remembered and loved ❤️📚

Reactions in my household to me producing this object from my bag: My 3-yr-old nephew: "it's a rooster! It's wearing a thingy!" (gleefully snatches it and starts playing) My sister, former seasoned con-goer, finally seeing it a minute later: "...OH NO 🤣"

I love meeting so many other hard-working people working in loc because it inspires me to work even harder too. The jobs are rarely ever easy but there's so much passion in what we do 🔥

EVERY STORY ABOUT BEAVERS FOR THE LAST DECADE READS LIKE: WE RELEASED A DOZEN PADDLE TAILED LITTLE FREAKS AND THEY IMMEDIATELY BEGAN A TERRAFORMING PROJECT THAT REVERSED A CENTURY OF ECOLOGICAL DAMAGE IN THREE WEEKS.

This post is unavailable.

Would be pretty cool if AFAB people actually got accurate health information about their own bodies, so I wouldn't have to find out through Dr. Google that perimenopause can start as early as your late 30s (and seems a very likely explanation for the cluster of Weird Health Symptoms I've had lately)

you know you're getting old when you see those wistful "nostalgic.... for a time i never lived in" memes online and they're talking about like, 2007

Glad to see these all making it up here! The Purple Moon games were really important to me growing up 💖

Nice review of a really lovely game. Should go without saying coming from us, but the world could use more "linear" narrative-focused adventure games. And if you like Hotel Dusk, don't forget to play Last Window, too!

Marc Normandin@marcnormandin.bsky.social

Sure, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is linear, but is that a negative? This wonderfully written graphic adventure from designer and writer Rika Suzuki shined on the DS nearly two decades ago, and remains as gripping of "a mystery novel" in video game form now as it was then.

OUT NOW from J-Novel Club: God Sleeps in Seafoam In a land of spirits, the spiritless Akira awakens a slumbering fire god, and no sooner does he receive her blessings than an ancient evil threatens to devour his new home. buff.ly/Ery6Tun

This genuinely breaks my heart, holy hell :( This guy was such a good sport and such a joyful part of the Otakon experience back in those years. You could always count on your day being better when you were out in the sweltering Baltimore heat and heard that "I GOT THAT ICE. ICE. COLD. COLD."

Liv J Brown@livybrown.bsky.social

So...if you went to Otakon in the early 2010s you probably remember the Iced Cold Water guy who would sing his banger of a song while selling Ice Cold Waters for Only 1 Dollar. I just learned he passed away earlier this year.....shit www.charleslstevensfuneralhome.com/obituaries/j...

The fact that I was mildly obsessed with Dilandau at 12 years old I think really should have clued me into certain things about myself a lot sooner 😂

True Heart Beating@sikanto.bsky.social

Thinking about the Visions of Escaflowne version of Dylandou who was not only a generational tweaker but also gender fluid or plura or trans Idk homie was bugging the whole show and low-key I'd eat that big ups to Dylandou happy Pride gang
