Andromeda over Half Dome Yosemite ✨

Don’t keep me in the loop anymore I wanna be completely out of the loop. Nowhere near the loop. I don’t want to even see a loop from here on out.

I would rather be a real nobody than a fake somebody

I looked at replies to me on the other site from the last month... It's a festering dumpster fire with unhinged threats and hateful idiots. Breaking free from that toxic waste dump is invigorating.

If you see our reply from a troll under one of your posts, it is both helpful and important to: 1) Block them 2) Click on the three little dots below their post and click “hide for everyone” Engaging with trolls in any way encourages them to stay here and be more active. Give them no oxygen.

Snow owl ❄️🤍🦉

I love this.

I know BlueSky is on to something because all the worst people you know are raging against it

The Dunning-Kruger effect - Cause People with limited knowledge or competence lack the expertise to recognize their own deficiencies. Consequences Can lead to poor decision-making, mistrust among colleagues, and dangerous work conditions.

So this is pretty cool: I think I’m the first national news correspondent to switch my chyron social handle from X to Bluesky. 💪🏽

Hey BlueSky fam! Here is our first Starter Pack! We’ve met some great people on this insane ride and THIS is our tribe. We’re always adding great vetted accounts! Follow and stay tuned 🔥

Numerous times this week, I’ve learned of news breaking on Bluesky before Twitter. In the past, it’s only ever been Twitter. Bodes well for the future of this site. Small note: I wish there was a way to segment notifications (people I follow, mentions, etc). cc @jay.bsky.team

I’m finding the community here far more engaging and respectful, while still wickedly funny. Happy to be migrating to these friendlier skies.

It doesn’t feel like I’ve truly broken in a new social media platform until I post a picture of one of my cats

I made a very non-exhaustive list of nerdy people (scientists, reporters, fellow pedants) that you might want to follow on here. Enjoy. go.bsky.app/Gucej7o

Appreciate this may not be a universally popular opinion but the less you treat BlueSky as a crusade or cause, and the more you position it as simply a superior user experience with a better governance approach, the more sustainable the growth will be.

Too many to count...

'This cannot go on': Hundreds of thousands of people turning to food banks for the first time Food banks in the Trussell network are now handing out 69% more emergency food parcels than 5 years ago Poverty in the UK is the big issue we should all be talking about www.bigissue.com/news/social-...

We're being encouraged to liven up our lecture course titles to attract more students. My course is a mid-20th century one that currently has the sexy title "The United States, 1920-1974." Any suggestions would be welcome.

name a film you always recommend.

Uni…are you really a cat? 本当に猫？

There are so many amazing people on Bluesky that I’ve updated my Starter Pack to include even more of my favorites. This is a work in progress — I’ll continue to expand this pack over the coming days and weeks. 🦋 go.bsky.app/6pG2Wr8

Andrew Tate got banned from Bluesky in less than one day. Another reason things are so much better here than Twitter.

If you’re looking for primers on federal law, the Congressional Research Service is an excellent resource—balanced, accurate, and clear. Here’s its paper on recess appointments. crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/...

I heard that Andrew Tate tried to come stretch his awkward wings here and got banned in just one day. Sorry, hate has no home here. Stay in the bad place, thanks.
