I feel like a lot of discourse around media would be healthier if people allowed themselves to like things they think are bad or at least not great.
Some of my favorite media is really not that good and it's fine!
I really don't want to do a whole Star Wars thing again but "Episode I is a masterpiece" is the most psychotic thing I have ever read and I keep seeing it and I worry for the future of our world
I’ve always liked this Blanka art because it looks like he is entering the room like a wacky sitcom neighbor, skanking to ska, or a combination of both
Knicks players should send Dolan an email with a link to choose dates for a White House visit, but when he clicks, it's a mandatory anti-phishing training.
Uh yeah no, as an older millennial who was a teenager for the first movie I remember reflexively convincing myself I really liked Phantom Menace despite the overwhelming audience reaction being “wow that sucked”
Let me get this straight — If I scream because I see a mummy in a movie, it's okay, but if I'm in a museum and I see an ACTUAL MUMMY I'm supposed to just keep my mouth shut like everything is fine???
Damn dude imagine going to some 20,000 square foot nightclub in Prague or whatever and John Wick shows up, and like you get the chance to see the Michael Jordan of murder wreck some guys on the elevated glass walkway above your head or whatever

Surely this is criminal negligence at t he very least? How many people have to be Yes-And-ed to death by these fucking things before someone faces a consequence?
Building on what @rustyshackles.bsky.social said I think BELMONT'S CURSE is a game for people who like the "Metroid" part of the "Metroidvania" thing more and as someone who prefers the "Vania" part it's a bit harder to really get going, as much as I like what they're doing and think it's great
Obviously being a pseudo-RPG is not *essential* to being a Castlevania game, goodness knows we've had plenty that don't do that, but SOTN really redefined the whole thing to the point where it's weird to go back
but also the Dead Cells folks can make a damn video game! It's excellent in every aspect! Just wanted a bit different, and I realize that's a bit like complaining they didn't have the exact sprinkles you wanted on a delicious cupcake but there it is

To me a big part of the modern 2D Castlevania experience is like...stats. Picking up random armor and weapons. Making numbers go up. Having different builds. So far it's been "here are different weapons, now go do a bunch of platforming" and that's fine and all but I like numbers
I for one think it’s nice to offer a little free baseball in the last game of the season, just a little treat for the fans who watch all seventy thousand games during the year.
Major beef time:
Sulu does not say this flavor text. Anywhere, anytime. Ever. This is a George Takai meme that has nothing to do with Sulu.
WHY IS THAT FLAVOR TEXT ON THIS CARD?
This is a funny post but I gotta applaud the Prof and crew for having critiques of the Trek set that were mostly "there is a way to do the Trek part of this better and more accurately" and I couldn't argue with most of their takes, largely because I am primarily a Star Wars guy
sorry to ruin your fun but his whole stoner nice guy routine is an act. Scooby's not even his real name, it's Gideon, and the only reason he can doss about in a mystery van is because his family, the D'Oubay-Doux, made a fortune in the East India Company in the 1700s. educate yourself.
pink muhly grass absolutely throwing ass today. how do you pronounce muhly? i don’t know. im not going to read your comments if you tell me, im going to wait for it to come up in a real person conversation and just give it a shot. the risk of embarrassment is what gives life its spark

@sporkyreeve.bsky.social gushed over this and you know what? Folks?
He’s right.
This trailer tells a story and it’s absolutely beautiful and so achingly relevant right now. I went from knowing nothing about this game to counting down the days until release
just to get ahead of future advancements, i also don't want to watch robots shoot basketballs perfectly from 75 feet every time. the frailty of our human endeavors is the point.
