I have a (very small) role in episode 1 of season 2 of Murderbot! Filming was in Madrid last month, and I can't wait to see how my* scene turns out! { 1/4 }

My younger daughter has been on a bit of a sushi kick, , so for the last 3 days I've made her maki for lunch. Yesterday, my dog was on the bed as she ate, just gazing at the sushi with such longing! I thought at the time: my shih tzu is pining after sushi. How fucking middle class can you get?!

I love when you're watching a movie or play or TV show, and you know what's coming but want it to not happen. I get it just before Desdemona drops her handkerchief, when Orpheus walks out of Hades with Eurydice in tow, and I just experienced it again, watching the Carrie. An excellent TV show.

Of course thinking that parenting is about loading the right input into a kid’s brain to make them maximal efficient adults is pathetic, but also: reading to kids is wonderful *for parents* too. Like, reading books to my daughter before bed is a core memory I’ll probably think about on my deathbed

Humans and augmented humans can have null feed IDs. I knew from my shows that it meant different things depending on what polity, station, area, etc., they lived in. Here on Preservation it meant “please don’t interact with me.” It was perfect.

Just called the airport. They *think* my luggage has landed in Spain, but they're not quite sure. Other than that, today has been pretty terrific, here in Madrid!

Bought some non-alcoholic lager at Tesco last week and a staff member had to come over to make sure I was old enough.

Last year BA misplaced 3 cases on our vacation. I just got to Madrid and only brought one case. But yep -- they've misplaced that one, too. They hope it'll get to me by Thursday. (This, on top of missing an earlier flight due to too few staff at check-in.)
