Don’t mess with the Mouse

New in PN: Disney runs out of patience with Brendan Carr’s bullsh*t "For over a year, ABC tried to appease the Trump administration. That era is now over. On Tuesday, ABC, its parent company Disney, and eight ABC-owned stations sued Carr and the FCC for grossly violating the First Amendment."

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged. Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year. Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity. Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall. It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford. It’s about priorities.

Maybe hospitalizing a FOOTBALL player will get the attention of right wing Texans.

1/2 ICE agents violently tackled a father and his teenage son on their way to school—sending the 16-year-old, a U.S. citizen and star athlete, to the hospital with back and neck injuries. “I was just going to school,” he cried. “I’m underage!”

"House slave." Think about this for a brief moment. Think of just how fecal and vicious a man has to use such a term in this context. This is leadership by the absolute worst of us, the most vile trash that we could scrape from the gutter and elevate to govern a nation.

On this date, Matthew Shephard died 27 years ago. He was beaten, tortured, and left for dead on fence for being gay. Please keep him and his wonderful mother Judy in your thoughts. And let's all work for a world where such horrific things do not happen to anyone. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

The historically volatile Texas grid was entirely stable this summer, despite extreme temperatures. Grid operators never once had to ask Texans to conserve energy or shut off their air conditioners. Why? Solar & batteries. Want a stable grid? Try solar & batteries.

canarymedia.comSolar and batteries had a record-setting, grid-stabilizing summer in…Solar has set 17 power generation records in Texas so far this year, shoring up the grid alongside batteries as some gas plant developers step back.

So here is my question. Let’s assume Miller & Co. are successful, i.e., they deport, jail, kill, all of the “undesirables.” What do they think society is like then? Like, what happens when they realize there’s still crime, drugs, and no one around to do half the jobs, from manual to skilled labor?1/

it is interesting to me how the MAGA right has a balkanized view of the United States that does not, at all, correspond with the reality of the United States

Russell Vought's sick little power trip will also hurt GOPers. One project he's cutting is the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub, which spans Oregon, Washington, and...Montana. The state's GOP governor has hailed it for creating "good-paying Montana jobs." Oops. newrepublic.com/article/2012...

He knows it. They know it. They've always known it. Amongst themselves, they joke about it. They tell stories about it. They swap advice on how to deal with it. But most importantly, to everyone else, they lie about it.

MADELEINE DEAN: The president is unhinged. He's unwell JOHNSON: A lot of folks on your side are too D: Oh my god, please. That performance in front of the generals? J: I didn't see it D: It's so dangerous! Our allies are looking elsewhere. Our enemies are laughing. You have a POTUS who's unwell.

I need you to read this thread to understand why so many historians are revolted by this regime's crimes against the past

Karl Jacoby@karl-jacoby.bsky.social

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/

“Get Smart” premieres 60 years ago tonight, on NBC. “I was sick of looking at all those nice, sensible situation comedies,” Mel Brooks said. “They were such distortions of life. .. No one had ever done a show about an idiot before. I decided to be the first.”

It's important to keep pointing out: Jimmy Kimmel didn't say anything about Charlie Kirk. He criticized Trump and his MAGA freaks for gleefully exploiting Kirk's death. That's what got him suspended. And that's what makes this different and even more dangerous.

Booker: Here’s the thing, I think you’re not going to be around long. I think this might be your last oversight hearing. This may the last time I have a hearing with you because I don’t think you’re long for this job.

The White House Press Secretary, the official spokesperson for the Trump administration, told reporters in an official briefing that the president wants to invade "every Democrat-run city" with troops. Any media still pretending that this is about "crime" is making a conscious choice to lie to you.

Exactly right. The book was released because Democrats on the House Oversight Committee kept up the pressure on Jim Comer and forced a subpoena. Even in the minority, congressional Democrats can still make an impact.

NYT, WaPo, CNN, BBC have Trump-Epstein as the top story. Even Fox has a story on Epstein, albeit about connections to Bill Clinton. Or, more accurately, they all have a story about a House panel releasing Epstein files. Media won’t do this themselves. But if you give them a show, they’ll cover it.

It says so much about RFK Jr that he thinks *this is a remotely plausible exchange *that would make him look good as a supervisor *and something he should share with the Senate, under oath

Still thinking about this mind-boggling exchange regarding the former CDC director today RFK JR: I told her that she had to resign because I asked her, “are you a trustworthy person?” and she said “no.” WARREN: What?
