Fuck AI. In other news, the glyphset for LTR Kosmik has been extended to almost 3000 glyphs total. Apparently a great typeface for campsites, petting zoos, farmer’s markets, oatsy diary and all the delicious organic foods. LTR Kosmik is also an excellent alternative for bloody Papyrus in any design.

With 50 days until the midterms, I urge you all to: 1) Help get out the vote. 2) Protect our electoral machinery from interference. 3) Not succumb to complacency, defeatism, or cynicism. We are the only ones who can end this nightmare. We are the leaders we’ve been waiting for.

Yeah so. One of the reasons to post stuff on these platforms is to present oneself as a capable professional. Not just inspo for the co-workers and fodder for ocean burning AI, but an actual “hey, what if we hire this guy to do that type thing?”. Naive, surely, but it has to start somewhere? 1/3

My teacher Gerrit Noordzij once observed: “once they think you’re famous, they think you will be expensive and they will never even ask!”. He said a bunch of other useful things as well, but this one holds. You may tut about implying there is fame involved. Maybe. 2/3

The work is: useful fonts, precise lettering, custom type, tweaked logos. Even the occasional typographic consulting if you’re curious if your current fonts are a liability rather than a brand? You’ve made it all the way here, you must be a curious and careful reader. Let me know if you need help!

Every time Monotype acquires another foundry, the homogenization of type accelerates. The antidote isn't nostalgia—it's supporting indies who still treat type as craft, not content.

In a moment of zen, Ensor has dinner with the fish. Where is his friend Holbein? Out dancing probably. It can be read as a gruesome scene, but then again it is rendered in such fetching shading! Artistique! The drawing will continue until morale improves. #ensorHolbein

Started excitedly describing this article to my partner over coffee. She let me finish and politely said "No part of that was interesting to me" www.ilm.com/how-to-build...
