Looking for work! If anyone needs a senior software engineer or a CTO, please reach out; my DMs are open. I've been running my own company and doing short-term contracts for the last 5 yrs, but now I'm ready to transition to something a bit more stable. Public benefit work preferred, not required.

To all the tech companies who are scared of losing all your programmers when GTA6 releases: Hire me! I'm smart enough to wait for 6 months of patches before I bother playing it, so I'll be ready to show up to work the entire launch week!

Not sure I understand why EA is shutting down Bioware instead of just letting them spin off into an independent studio again. Wouldn't it show as the same loss on EA's balance sheets and give the studio a breath of fresh air from being under corporate overlords?

Once mass spam texts were made legal, younger donors vanished, leaving a grassroots fundraising machine that subsists on squeezing vulnerable seniors, some of whom give hundreds of times a day. It’s a horrific model. Consultants get generationally wealthy, and the party hollows out its future.

Jake Grumbach@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

Congrats once again to all the politicians, journalists, artists, celebrities, and brands who STILL prop up this man’s right-wing propaganda platform every day by using it as an official communication channel.

It's a key part of conservative ideology: "I have no obligations to you and I can treat you however I like, but you are required to love me."

This is a quietly metastasizing moral panic

I'm very experienced with both Unity3D and Godot game engines. I've worked in the AAA game dev industry, self-released two indie titles, and have contracted professionally for virtual reality and medical simulation companies. #gamedevjobs #gamejobs

Plus, I can work with or without AI, whichever you prefer; I have plenty of experience with both. DM me for résumé and references if you're interested. I'm not as expensive as my experience may lead you to believe, and I'm willing to work at a discount for a good cause.

I have 17 years experience, specialize in C#/ASP.NET, but I've worked professionally with C/C++, Java, PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, and more. I've single-handedly built, launched, and maintained more than one complex interconnected business management system. #softwarejobs #developerjobs

Do we have any dead-eyed blonde liberals who might be up for infiltrating the highest office of the land? Just saying, one woman's sacrifice could end a lot of suffering.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

The "Party of Reagan" has the United States siding with Russian aggression against NATO allies and a brutal war on a European democratic US partner. Yes, the whole party. If they didn't, they would impeach and remove the president who is blatantly breaking US law to help fund Russia's war effort.

Figuring out why Ossoff is so effective is an interesting task. I think he's mastering a kind of stern dignity that is uniquely compelling in contrast to the clownish cruelty of the other side. I think the other person who's kind of hit on the same thing is AOC, though in a different register

Quick question... has Russia actually confirmed this deal?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "I think you heard about the oil deal with Russia. That is a big deal. That is massive amounts of oil coming into our country, and I want to thank President Putin to be honest with you."

Louis Ingenthron reposted

We went from sanctioning Russian oil to buying it in three weeks. Instead of ending his disastrous war in Iran, Trump is now funding Russia's war in Ukraine. We used to hold dictators and autocrats accountable. Now our president negotiated a deal to fund Putin's unjust war.

The American white collar workforce started working from home three days a week for like six months a year into COVID and executives so thoroughly lost their minds over this that they installed Trump II. If anything, AI will create the 7-day workweek.

It's incredible how many BlueSky users who complain about the power of oligarchs are currently exposing the fact that they have Amazon accounts, actively contributing to the entrenchment of those same oligarchs' power. Amazon really got y'all to show your asses with that customer trends page.

What TV show got so bad it effectively destroyed your appreciation for the show when it was was good?

SpaceX: Using 18 disposable rockets like Apollo did isn't economical, so we'll make a reusable rocket instead. Also SpaceX: It's totally fine if we accidentally blow up 30 rockets on our way to making a reusable one.

It's incredible how quickly I lose respect for those who use Trump aphorisms. Oh, you're saying "thank you for your attention to this matter" ironically? Well, I'm unironically downgrading my opinion of you and unfollowing you. Stop quoting the tyrant.

I pride myself on being pretty good at reading through legalese, but trying to read a modern privately-offered healthcare plan is like trying to decipher ancient Egyptian.

I’m sorry, but if you bring an iced coffee - or any damn beverage at all - to a job interview, you’re disqualified. It’s not hard, people.

I just had an insane multi-hour dream where I realized it was a dream only to wake up in another dream where I argued with someone about whether my dream was a dream. When I finally woke up to real life, I found out I had been asleep less than an hour. Wait, is this still a dream?
